Country Cabin by Fairgrounds & Skylands Stadium

This simple cabin is perfect for couples and friends looking to escape the city for a getaway (only 60 miles/1.5 hr drive from NYC). Enjoy the private porch that looks out onto our vast farmland - the perfect view to enjoy your morning coffee. Horse lovers, hikers, baseball lovers, and stargazers are all welcome! Beautiful walking, biking and horse trails, hiking overlooks & scenic lakes. We are next door to the Sussex County Fairgrounds and Skylands Baseball Stadium. The space PLEASE NOTE: Right now, we are not hosting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we are looking forward to opening up once again in late 2021. ********************** The entire upstairs unit (kitchen, bathroom, outdoor porch, two bedrooms) is available to the guests. This is an old farmhouse cabin with simple decor and amenities. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses, wine glasses, coffee mugs, silverware and cookware. The TV is equipped with Roku, which guests can access any apps they subscribe to such as Amazon Prime, Hulu, or Netflix. The suite has it's own thermostat. The driveway can park up to 4-5 cars. Please note that the basement is off-limits as it is unfinished / for storage purposes. Sleeping Arrangements - please make sure you book with the correct amount of guests so we can prepare the suite accordingly: 1. First bedroom has two twin sized beds and drawers for convenience. 2. Second bedroom has a full sized size bed with a Casper Memory Foam mattress, working desk area, with standing closet space. 3. Living room has a sleeper sofa; extra comforters and pillows are located in the couch storage. Local attractions include Skylands Stadium, Sussex County Fairgrounds, Mountain Creek, Space Farms Zoo & Museum, High Point State Park, Lake Mohawk, Sussex Airport where you can go skydiving, hiking and biking trails and skiing. We are centrally located in the best outdoors that Sussex County can offer: - Skylands Baseball Stadium (Home of the Sussex County Miners) – 2 min - Sussex County Fairgrounds / Conservatory / Farm & Horse Show (Home of the NJ State Fair) – 5 min - Downtown Newton (Newton Theatre) – 10 min - Culver Lake – 10 min - Space Farms Zoo & Museum – 15 min - Sussex County Sunflower Maze – 17 min - Lake Mohawk Country Club – 17 min - Perona Farms – 20 min - Stokes State Forest – 20 min - Mountain Creek Ski Resort / Waterpark – 25 min - Great Gorge Golf Course – 25 min - High Point State Park (hike to the highest point in NJ!) – 25 min - Delaware Water Gap / Dingman’s Ferry – 30 min Other things to note 1. The property has a gorgeous view over farmland and a large porch with Weber BBQ grille (summer months). Escape the concrete jungle and enjoy this wide open space. In the winter months, the outdoor furniture is put away and in storage. 2. In the winter when there is snow on the ground, All Wheel Drive or Four Wheel Drive is required to enter our driveway (otherwise you likely will get stuck). The driveway is unpaved (as are most country roads) and may have some potholes. Please drive at your own risk; slowly and carefully. We are not responsible for any damages incurred to your vehicle as a result of the unpaved country roads in Sussex County. 3. No pets as the owners are severely allergic. 4. The beds will be set up according to the number of guests listed in the reservation. For example, if there is only one guest; only one room will be set up with the respective number of linens/towels. Please be sure to book with the correct number of guests, and we will coordinate with you prior to your check in on which room you most prefer to set up the suite to your needs.
