The Department is the Puy-de Dome. 800 km from Eindhoven, 350 km below Paris and 55 kilometers above Clermont-Ferrand. Easy to reach in 8 travel hours from Eindhoven via highway. Also ideal as a stopover for a trip further south. The spacious gîtes (75m2) are equipped with a living room, open kitchen with fridge and 4 burner gas hob, 1 or 2 bedrooms and a modern bathroom with shower and toilet. The gîtes have French doors to the large terrace with great views over our valley and on the mountain the Puy-de-Dome. On a clear weather, you can look at at least 100 km away. The terrace faces the south which means many hours of sun so you can enjoy the morning sun but also have a drink late in the afternoon with a nice snack and a drink. Our gîtes are located in a rural setting on the outskirts of the Central Massif. You can enjoy the beautiful nature with us, swim in the Sioule river or one of the many lakes nearby. Discover the wooded and hilly surroundings. The ideal environment when you can enjoy nature and tranquility. Do you like long or short walks, bike/mountain bike tours, beautiful motorbike tours both on paved and unpaved terrain or from fishing for standing or running water? It all belongs to the possibilities and accessible within a short distance. You can also visit nearby many French markets and brocantes. De Auvergne is known for its many cheeses, the ancient volcanic mountains of which the Puy de Dome is the most famous, the many lakes and rivers. Of course, there are also many cities to discover. Vichy is one of the thermal towns in Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand as capital, cradle of Michelin ties and with its famous cathedral, Montluçon with a weekly market in the medieval center. The medieval village of Charroux is also highly recommended, one of the 156 labelled 'most beautiful villages in France'.
