Imagine welcoming all your friends and family to an enchanting castle where you make your own pizzas in a 1,000 year old stone oven and sip wine as the sun sets. The next morning you'll have a relaxed brunch and get ready for your big day while your guests hang at the pool or attend a wine tasting. With several charming locations to choose from for your ceremony, dinner, aperitivo and reception, you can say your vows outside with a backdrop of picturesque rolling hills, or in a medieval chapel beaming with light from the stained glass windows. Whether you choose an open air or intimate indoor ceremony, your perfect day has just begun. Take your first married sip of Prosecco and snack on Italian meats and cheeses while local musicians set the mood on the stone terrace. Eat a 4 course dinner made by amazing chefs with fresh local food surrounded by olive trees and beneath bistro lights. Watch your friends and family enjoying themselves and the Tuscan wine while the sun sets before you. After everyone has had a slice of your delicious millefoiglie wedding cake head inside for the dance party in the ‘Rave Cave’ — which is exactly what it sounds like: a beautiful stone room with an arched ceiling and a disco ball that turns this Gothic dungeon into a party space with no curfew. Up to 90 guests can stay onsite in our charming castle apartments furnished in a typical Tuscan-style. We offer full catering from brunches, pizza parties, BBQs and a 4 course wedding dinner with delicious and Tuscan modern menu options. We use fresh seasonal products which we find locally or by fair trade. We provide fresh mountain spring water in glass jugs to reduce plastic. We differentiate waste - recycling and composting and strictly limit the use of disposable products. We are able to host civil ceremonies anywhere on the property. There is an outdoor pool and playground to keep any kids or kids at heart occupied while others can relax in the sun with a glass of local wine, visit Florence by train or car 30km away, grab some Gucci at the nearby designer outlet mall, go golfing, take a winery tour or stay put for an organized activity such as a yoga class, foraging hike or horseback riding. The castle is divided into apartments which each has their own kitchenette (no stove) and bathroom. The castle also has an indoor and outdoor pizza oven, chapel, outdoor pool, playground, olive groves and fruit trees and a freshwater spring all surrounded by an incredible forest. Ristonchi Castle is over 1000 years old and surrounded by nature. We are environmentally conscious and sustainably minded - please be mindful that the castle and forest we are situated within are ancient. We live in harmony with the natural flora and fauna that have inhabited this area for thousands of years. Please bring insect repellent if you are uncomfortable with bugs. A mosquito net may be available but bring your own if you are very sensitive and want to be sure. It's like camping in a castle! The only thing new in the castle are the spiderwebs :) we do our best to clean but the spiders work fast! The price shown is for the exclusive castle rental for up to 90 guests. Guests share double beds and for people to sleep in the common areas on beds and trundle beds. If you have less guests not many will need to share. Guest access POOL: A large, beautiful pool is filled with natural spring water from the mountain and has a panoramic view of our olive groves and the Tuscan landscape . Refreshing in the hot summer it is not heated. FOREST: Ristonchi Castle is on top of a mountain surrounded by olive groves and forest land. Take some time to explore nature on 20km of marked paths for walking and cycling. We have mountain bikes and helmets available to rent and offer guided hiking tours. PLAYGROUND: We have an awesome playground for adults and kids! A large swingset and obstacle course Rasmus built himself to encourage everyone to play and learn here. WIFI: Yes, there is wifi here in the common areas inside and outside. Some apartments have wifi but some are behind stone walls that are just too thick to reach. We encourage our guests to unplug and get outside to explore. We have a shared workspace in the castle with wifi and desks where many wonderful digital nomads have made their home base for weeks or months. Other things to note We have heating in winter. We don't have AC. The thick stone walls and mountain breeze help keep the castle cool but if heat bothers you don't visit us during July or August.
