The Cock House, Salt Lake City welcomes you! 🌱 🌷 🐝 🐣 To set a proper expectation, be aware farming is ongoing. We often have projects on the property. We are currently excavating our basement and have a path going around this. We are open during this and work is limited to during normal work hours of 9-5. This is an urban farm and is currently not accessible by wheelchair. The terrain is diverse so be aware of potential tripping hazards. Rule the roost of our private downtown tiny house with plenty of coop appeal as well as all the amenities you could ask for, including a queen-sized bed & private outdoor space complete with fire pit for roasting marshmallows while roosting under the stars. Local Notices Elm Seed Beetles We have removed all elm and other host trees from our property to minimize these insects, but we are surrounded by Siberian elm trees in the neighborhood. During midsummer, you may see an occasional elm seed beetle indoors. They are harmless, and we typically just vacuum them up. Please let us know if you see any, and we will take care of it promptly. Construction We are completing renovations to improve the property. Some work may occur between 8 AM–7 PM, including weekends, but it is not constant. Children Children are welcome, but for safety, they must remain under parental or guardian supervision at all times. No Illicit Drugs Illicit drug use—especially methamphetamine—is strictly prohibited. We conduct enforceable testing, and violations will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Bringing drugs into someone’s home is unacceptable, destructive, and deeply disrespectful. It doesn’t take much to rule the roost— even a cock can do that. The Cock House is outback separate from the main home. To use bathroom or kitchen one must enter the main home. During your stay We have automatically provided you self check-in details which are found in the reservation details. These contain all the info needed for locating the home, your room, connecting to Wi-Fi, the house rules, etc... At this time, we do not offer on site staff, so please, we can be reached on Airbnb if you have any additional questions. Any off-Airbnb communication is reserved for emergencies only. The terrain is diverse so be aware there are potential tripping hazards. Nonetheless it should be fine to pass for the average walker. We are a farm and we are doing many improvements/remodeling to the property. Be aware. It is a shared space in a 120 year old home. The furniture is not new and does have patina. There is potential for smells. There is potential for noise. As mentioned previously, expect to see other guests. It is a self check-in process and you agree to the house rules by reserving here.
