Our historic Cottage has stood graciously on the banks of the Barrington River since the 1880s. Scenic countryside is at your doorstep: enjoy a rambling walk and splash in the river. In winter, rekindle by the slow combustion fire, and let your soul unwind. Take in the tranquil scenery, with beauty that captivates as the seasons change. Only a 10 minute drive to Gloucester, you’ll be close enough to anything you might need during your stay. Welcome, we hope you’ll enjoy this gentle friend. The space The Old Schoolmaster's Cottage on the Barrington River - 3 bedroom historic country weatherboard cottage with large covered return verandah. Numerous returning guests and rave reviews. Just 3 hours north of Sydney and 1.5 hours north of Newcastle - all roads sealed. 30 min drive to the World Heritage Listed Barrington Tops Wilderness. 10 min drive to Gloucester - a country town with all facilities. 3 bedrooms sleep up to 6 guests in (2 queen beds and 2 single beds - all with electric blankets). 1.5 new bathrooms - one main bathroom (walk in shower, full sized bath and toilet) and we also have a separate toilet. Reverse cycle air conditioning throughout Ceiling fans in each bedroom Slow combustion fireplace - FREE firewood supplied for use during your stay over the winter months. Linen & towels supplied (not beach towels). 1 off-street parking space in carport High chair available. Basic's supplied - dishwashing tablets and liquid, wipes, eco toilet paper (as the Cottage has a septic tank), paper towelling, salt, pepper, cooking oils, vinegars. Hand sanitiser available. Tea and coffee supplied. No coffee maker. We have invested in a Telstra repeater and now have Telstra mobile coverage. This is terribly exciting for us. Free Starlink Satellite High Speed Wifi Fetch box and smart TV. Guest access Full use of cottage and enclosed yard, including very well equipped kitchen and laundry. Linen, bath towels and guest toiletries and some cleaning products provided. The Cottage is self contained so bring what you would need for your time away - food, drinks, beach towels for the river, sunscreen, aeroguard, hat and walking shoes. Other things to note Please enjoy your stay and restrict your activities to the Old Schoolmaster's Cottage on the Barrington River. We have Telstra mobile phone access. With free wifi available most guest manage with wifi calling, email and facetime. Outdoor fires are prohibited at all times. 10 min drive to Gloucester - a country town with all facilities.
