Forest Glade, Lorre

Hidden in a forest valley in the Grandes Causses Natural Park in the South of France, is our entirely secluded hamlet, Lorre. The Glade is a completely private forest glade, set above the hamlet, with a beautifully equipped 5 metre bell tent. The hamlet itself is set in 80 acres of private woodland and surrounded by nature; with a swimming pool overlooking the trees, a wood-fired spring fed hot tub, meandering forest and stream-side walks and incredible views. It is idyllic. The space The Bell tent is perfectly set up for a couple or solo traveller, with a double futon, rugs, little table, bean bag seat and ambient solar lighting. Outside there's a spring fed shower over an upcycled tin bath, and a forest dry composting loo too. But you do also have access to your own indoor (hot water) shower-room and (normal) toilet, so you can switch between the wild and the more civilised as you wish! The Glade is surrounded by Sweet Chestnut, Oak and Ash trees with a beautiful view of our stream valley. It's a short walk down to the pool (which is shared if we have other guests in other parts of the hamlet) and the spring fed wood fired hot tub (there's a little extra charge for this because we fill it with 3000 litres of spring water especially for you and then heat it for 7 hours with sustainably sourced wood from our forest, but it's an incredible candle-lit experience). This is the perfect place for people who love wild camping in stunning locations. You are in a forest and it is wild (albeit quite luxuriously wild with a pool and hot tub), so it's not just a budget option! The hamlet is within day-trip driving distance of wild swimming and lake beaches at the Lakes of Laouzas and La Raviege, canoeing, kayaking and white water at the Gorges of Tarn, plunge pools and waterfalls at the Gorges d'Heric, the UNESCO World Heritage city of Albi, charming Millau and the Norman Foster Viaduct and even the Mediterranean beaches at Beziers (a bit further, about an hour and half). We do have other accommodation space here, so we can accommodate larger or smaller groups. We have a beautiful large house listed as "Lorre, La Maison D'Hôtes", a lovely cottage listed as "Lorre, Le Gite" and an extra en suite bedroom, the Pool Room, next to our pool.
