Description
One of two Beautiful apartments ( this one is on the ground floor but is up a couple of steps so it is probably unsuitable for wheelchairs) in the historic Porch House; a 16th century grade II* listed timber framed town house in the centre of Bishops Castle, opposite a pub with lively music nights. The apartment has a super king size bed and room to take bicycles in the anteroom. Apartment 2 is under a separate listing. The space Charming, interesting accommodation in an apartment attached to an Artist’s home in Bishops Castle. Timber in the house has been dated to the year of Shakespeare’s birth 1564. The comfortable accommodation includes bedroom with Television, a king size bed and a sofa bed. Bath/shower room with an ancient narrow (21 ins) doorway, sitting room with wood burning stove and Television, and a kitchen. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine and dryer in the main house by arrangement. Guest access There is easy free parking on the street outside or off road parking behind the house accessed from Union Street. Other things to note The pub over the road has great music evenings, on most Thursdays, and Saturdays which are free to anyone popping in for a drink. We are right opposite so they can be heard from the Porch House but are generally over by 11.30 . The town hall bells are a lovely sound but it can be disturbing if you’re a light sleeper, ear plugs are supplied. The flat is directly over the Chai Cafe, which is a delight and serves great curry and Samosas! However the old floors are not very sound proof so if you arrive when Tahira is open ( from 12-6.30) you can hear lively chat from below. We can provide a fold out bed for one extra guest. A cot and a high chair are available by arrangement.
