In the morning or late afternoon, you can find yourself in the beauty and mystery of thick fog. We live at the edge of the Redwood forest and it's a wet climate. We are three-mile drive through the redwoods to the center of Arcata, Cal Poly Humboldt, and the Arcata Marsh. The apartment is connected to our home but it's completely private with its own entrance. The studio has a new queen-size mattress, and a full tub/shower bathroom. For water conservation, the small sink in the bathroom has a cold water spigot for washing hands and brushing your teeth. The shower has a mirror for shaving and a mirror above the kitchen sink. The studio has a full kitchen, a small fridge, and stove, and WiFi. Skylights and windows illuminate the living and kitchen area with natural light. We provided coffee and a variety of teas. During the summer feel free to enjoy our garden and help yourself to the fruit and veggies. Feel free to relax in the garden and in the summer pick fresh fruit and veggies. My husband and I live in the main house and are available if you need us. We live in a beautiful area surrounded by Redwoods. Fickle Hill is in a rural setting. We are close to Arcata but not in town. We are 1,200 feet above sea level and are sometimes above the fog and sometimes in the fog... and that's part of the north coast allure. We're close to the ocean and beautiful beaches. We have a Redwood forest in the backyard, where you can hear the sounds of ravens, crows, and chirping frogs. We are in a neighborhood, and that means you'll also hear dogs and kids and chickens, but it's quiet at night for a good nights sleep. We're located 2.5 miles up Fickle Hill and in some winter months we can experience the beauty of snow falling in the Redwoods. A car is needed! We live in a rural neighborhood and neighbors have dogs that sometimes bark at the wildlife that surround the area. Dogs are quiet by 11:00 pm. The nightly rate includes free wireless internet and bed tax. Please, no cigarette smoking inside.
