Other things to note PLEASE LIST YOUR ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES IN & OUT OF DARWIN ON YOUR ORIGINAL BOOKING MESSAGE. Darwin is in the tropics and so has a wet season which runs from November until April and the dry season which runs from May until October. The wet season is characterised by high humidity, monsoonal rain and storms. January is the wettest month but is considered by many as the most beautiful time of the year with the spectacular storms and the green foliage. Monsoons and Cyclones can occur at any stage during the wet season. Cyclone information and places to take shelter can be found in our apartment. October, November and December is the time of the build up – very humid, very hot and storms that give us spectacular lightning displays and sometimes deliver some rain. March and April are very similar to the build up weather with high humidity and less rain to cool us off ( tho’ we have had cyclones in these months). The dry season is characterised by warm, dry, sunny days and cooler nights. Daylight saving is not observed in the Northern Territory. Crocodiles inhabit all waterways around the Top End - the sea, rivers and lagoons. In the Wet Season, Sea Wasps inhabit the sea. DO NOT SWIM AT THE BEACH DURING THE WET SEASON as the Sea Wasps (Box Jellyfish) can cause death in children and excruciating pain in adults. You need to get to the hospital if stung - ring an ambulance or drive immediately to the hospital.
