Description
Caban Corgi is the work of Welsh modernist architect Graham Brooks and was designed in a Scandinavian style in the 1970s, which essentially means plenty of natural wood and a fine line between the outdoors and indoors. The cabin, like all the others in Penlan Holiday Village is perfect for getting away from strenuous city life. You are close to the famous Cenarth falls and great beaches. Full of retro quirky charm this cabin is ideal for couples or small families: your dog is welcome too! The space We love mid-century modern architecture and Caban Corgi is almost unchanged since it was designed back in the 1970s. Please bear this in mind when deciding to stay here. The cabin has 70s quirky features that we love. Orla Kiely fans and retro lovers will love the interior styling. *Note: There was a substantial tree reduction around the cabin in March 2025 (after our photos were taken in autumn 2024). It has dramatically improved the light level in the cabin but has altered the woodland aesthetic - we'll add more up-to-date photos soon. Other things to note This is a quirky cabin with all the charms of the 1970s still intact. We love it like this. Please consider this before you book - if you are looking for luxury 5* hotel-style accommodation, this is not the cabin for you. Bethan, the host, is also a co-author of Cabin Crew: Hird & Brooks and the Pursuit of the Perfect Holiday House (The Modernist, 2025). The book explores the cabins' history, its role in Welsh modernist architecture, and the thinking behind its distinctive look. You can buy your copy from The Modernist website.
