I can add a twin airbed for an additional guest with advance notice. Ideal for a business traveler, Huntington scholar, Caltech researcher or parents visiting a student. Convenient for tourists exploring Pasadena and greater Los Angeles. Close to Pasadena/Arcadia/Glendale hospitals for traveling nurses. The space Queen-size bed in sunny corner room, very warm in summer. Twin air bed also available for an additional guest by advance arrangement. Hardwood floors, full-length mirror, closet with lots of wooden hangers, window seat. Full bathroom is a few steps away. Free street parking for your car. Sheltered parking for your bicycle. Light housekeeping service available most Mondays by advance arrangement. Free Wi-fi. Guest access Guests have the bedroom to themselves and are welcome to share our living room, dining room and backyard. The bathroom will be shared IF our other room is also booked. You are welcome to store small amounts of food in the refrigerator/kitchen and make light use of the kitchen during kitchen hours (breakfast time and dinner time up until 9pm). Closes at 9pm for any use of electrical (eg. microwave) or gas (eg. stove) appliances for safety reasons, but you can access your stored drinks/food 24/7. For use of the BBQ or laundry facilities please make arrangements with host. Our barbecue is available by arrangement before 9pm. Guests may do a load of laundry for every three nights of stay, detergent provided for you. No access to the second floor or private family areas of the house. We can provide almost any amenity you might need - from a snack to sunscreen to a discount code for the supermarket. I have an amazon Prime membership for ordering free home delivery you can take advantage of for grocery delivery. I have a small catering company and can provide meals for purchase . During your stay Limited due to the global pandemic. Host can share ideas for places to go and things to do in beautiful Pasadena, Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Can also provide lunches/dinners/snacks for purchase through my small catering business. If you don't want much interaction that's fine too, we can just say "hello" in passing. :) Other things to note Potential Noise. This is a warm, family home where nobody tiptoes around each other. Note, there is no one above your room or the common areas, you won’t hear anyone overhead while you are trying to sleep or study or work. But, it is not uncommon for our dog to bark to be let out in the morning or at the temerity of another dog walking past our house, nor for me to be yelling at children to put on their shoes or we’ll be late for school, for children to be yelling at video games or laughing at YouTube videos, siblings loudly disagreeing or even loudly agreeing (shocking, right?) chickens singing an “egg song” in the back yard nesting box, etc. Gardeners garden, cars and trash trucks drive by, our housekeeper comes a few times a week, VERY early in the morning. If you are looking for an Airbnb as a monastic retreat you should keep looking. I don’t think there is any more or less noise at our house than anywhere else and it tends to be quiet after 10pm, but if you have the slightest concern, please talk to me before you book and I am happy to honestly answer any questions. I’m just trying to disclose any potential noise I can think of so there aren’t any surprises if you are sensitive to it. Thanks!
