Whare Maunga - House by the Mountains

Whare Maunga sits on a large, sheltered, private landscaped site with expansive views over a river valley and towards the mountains. It is in very close proximity to the Cardrona and Clutha Rivers and the walking/mountain biking tracks. The newly built architecturally designed dwelling comprises a two-bedroom house and a standalone sleeping double bedroom “pod”. Quality finishes and furnishings create a luxurious feel throughout. Wanaka town and airport are ten-minute drives. The space The incoming driveway leads to a covered way and includes ample parking. The entrance lobby opens to a spacious well equipped combined kitchen and living room with a north facing luxurious long window seat perfect for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the views. Doors from this room lead to surrounding decks and paving areas, an external fire (equipped for cooking) and sink bench within a shelter structure. The house was specifically designed to maximise the indoor and outdoor living possibilities depending on the time of day and weather conditions. The main and “pod” bedrooms are equipped with Queen beds and are accessed via an open wardrobe area with an adjacent separate bathroom. The bedrooms have beautiful views and sliding door access to outside decks. They are very peaceful spaces with a retreat like feel. The large third bedroom and games room has four built in King Single bunks. Each bunk has a light, power points and a shelf. This room has its own separate bathroom and sliding door access to an outside deck. There is a soft rug for comfort and fold away table-tennis table. It is an ideal space catering for children or up to four adults. A combined laundry and mudroom area (for boot and clothes drying after a day on the ski slopes or bike/walking tracks) is equipped with a washing machine, dryer and drying racks. Underfloor heating is provided throughout and a wood-burner installed in the living room provides supplementary heating and increases ambience in the space. Coffee machine, WIFI, Smart TV, Sky decoder and a quality sound system utilising Spotify are also installed. A barbeque is available. Tea, coffee and milk provided. Stoked Spa/Plunge Pool for 10.
