The Bike Shed - sleeps 2 in rustic rural location

Come and unwind in the beautiful Somerset countryside. The Bike Shed at Longmoor is a rustic getaway, perfect for walkers, cyclists, wildlife fanatics or anyone just wanting to amble about on the stunning 1000 acre historic estate of Cricket St Thomas. Breakfast on the decking, watch the sun come up next to the meandering stream, gaze at the dragonflies darting about. If you’re really lucky you might see an otter swimming past! Deer are regular visitors too. The space The Bike Shed at Longmoor is a simple space, great for pottering around in. One end has a sofa with games and books, very homely in front of the cosy log burner. Plenty of logs provided to keep the log burner going as it can get a bit chilly in the living area in the mornings. Electric heater in the bedroom and towel radiator in the bathroom. Behind the table, doors open out onto the decking, beside the stream with beautiful views of the woods behind and rolling hills with sheep, cattle and occasional deer grazing. The kitchenette is well equipped with everything you should need for your stay. There’s a little fridge/freezer, an electric 2 ring hob & microwave, crockery and cutlery. Then walk though into the bedroom with Queen size bed and en-suite shower/loo behind a sliding door. There’s space to hang clothes or fold them away into a chest of drawers. Guest access The Bike Shed is yours for the duration of your stay. This includes the decking and grassy area for parking, barbecuing or just general lounging about on! To walk to Cricket St Thomas lakes and gardens just wander up the bumpy lane towards an archway, go through the archway into a courtyard and head towards some black gates with a swan on. There are a couple of circuits you can walk around the lake, a shorter walk or a longer walk along the old railway line to what used to be Flamingo Junction. There’s a laminated map of the farm and lakes in the Bike Shed for you to borrow.
