Other things to note Staying With Us Being in the heart of downtown Three Rivers, our property offers the best of both worlds, close to local shops, restaurants, and conveniences, yet still surrounded by nature. On weekends and during school breaks the town can feel especially lively and busy, but once you step onto the property you’ll find yourself in a peaceful retreat by the lake and river. Wildlife You May Encounter Our property is surrounded by nature, so it’s not unusual to spot or hear some of our wild neighbors: • Deer – often wandering through at dawn and dusk • Squirrels & chipmunks – busy in the trees and around the cabins • Lizards – sunbathing on warm rocks • Birds – woodpeckers, hawks, owls, and songbirds fill the air with sound • Ducks & frogs – around the lake and pond in the evenings • Skunks – shy and non-aggressive, they help keep pests in balance • Raccoons & possums – occasional nighttime visitors • Snakes – usually shy and keep to themselves; rattlesnakes are rare, and they’re the only venomous snake in this area • Bats – mostly seen at dusk, busy eating mosquitoes and other insects • Bees – usually found around flowers and plants, important pollinators that keep the landscape thriving • Flies – a common part of being outdoors in the warmer months • Insects – butterflies, dragonflies, crickets, and sometimes ants or spiders • Coyotes, bobcats, or mountain lions – very rare to see, but they do roam the surrounding wilderness • Black bear – also rare, but possible in this region
