Description
A private guest house with stunning views, the Coach House adjoins 'The Mount', an imposing granite built former Quarry Captains House sitting atop a hill in it's own 15 acre estate. Bridle paths lead from the property directly onto the moor. The friendly moorland Village of Sticklepath is a short walk away with its two pubs, Village Shop and National Trust's Finch Foundry. Only 2mins off the A30, a pet friendly, family friendly stay in a central Devon location, a perfect base for exploring. The space The Coach House offers a fully fitted, functional kitchen, a large open plan living area with french doors opening out onto a Juliette balcony with stunning views. There is a spacious, secluded decked area solely for guests use with seating and lounger. The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers with two luggage stands. There is a pull out double sofa bed in the main living space. An infant cot and high chair can be provided if required. In the bathroom there is a combined bath and shower. Guest access The Coach House itself is self-contained, has a private entrance and adjoins a secluded sundeck/patio for guest sole use. There is a large private parking bay (up to two vehicles) for the sole use of our guests. The Coach House sits within a 15 acre private estate surrounded by lawns, meadows and woodland. Guests are very welcome, at their own risk, to make use of the lawn area down by the lake for picnics, the playground and to explore the woodland. We do have free-ranging chickens and runner ducks so ask that dogs are kept under close control/ on a lead when outside the property. Other things to note We welcome ONE well behaved dog. There are free-ranging chickens and runner ducks within the grounds of the property. Some of our guests have messaged me prior to booking to ask if you can hear the A30 from the Coach House as we are not that far from it. Personally, I genuinely don't notice the noise at all when relaxing outside and and enjoying the grounds, however, if you stood outside and purposefully listened for it then I can best describe it as a distant background noise. Depending on the wind direction and weather conditions you often cannot hear it at all. As you will read from the 100+ reviews, many guests describe us as being in a 'peaceful location'.
