The Cushnoc Efficiency is a private one-room cottage at the heart of Ocean Point. Walking distance to the shore in three directions and adjacent to Ocean Point's social hub the "Casino"(Not a gambling casino, but a community social center) there is no better place to become acquainted with OP. Quiet and peaceful most of the year, yet lively during the heart of the summer, OP offers visitors breathtaking views of the local islands, spectacular surf during storms and truly phenomenal sunsets. The space With a double bed Ideal for one or a couple, it can accommodate others with the full size convertible futon couch. In addition to the bed and couch the living space has a table and chairs, two small dressers, a Bose radio, and plenty of lighting. Electric heat on a thermostat will take the chill out of the air, but this is a summer cottage without central heat so be sure to bring a fleece or your favorite sweater. Linens are provided, with ample blankets available. There is a closet for hanging items and the newly renovated bath has its own heat and on-demand hot water. The kitchen, although small, is fully equipped if you want to prepare your own meals. Boothbay has a lot to offer in the food department. And if you don't feel like cooking but want to stay close to home, the Ocean Point Inn is just a five minute walk down the road, and their dining room offers one of the best sunset views in the whole region. Guest access The efficiency is a stand-alone cottage which you will have to yourself. There are two steps up to the deck and one into the efficiency. Situated in an open yard next to my family cottage, the property is only a couple blocks from the shore where you can take in the views, fish or hunt for sea glass. You are welcome to enjoy the yard for relaxing, sunbathing or games. All of the following are available: Bocce, Corn Hole, Croquet, Kubb, Ring Toss, Skittle Scatter (Norwegian lawn bowling), Yardzee (giant Yahtzee) and others. For longer stays, or by request, access to a washer and dryer is available Other things to note Secure private Wi-Fi is provided. Bring your laptop, tablet or smart device to stay connected or stream your must see shows. (There isn't a tv or cable at the Cushnoc Efficiency). Weather on the coast of Maine is unpredictable. It is not uncommon for evenings or early mornings to be cold, while days can be hot and sunny. And the weather on Ocean Point can be totally different than the weather just a few miles inland. Pack accordingly.
