The space Tucked into a quiet bungalow lane (AE-block) in Salt Lake City, Wabi House sits on the ground floor of a 65-year-old home. No stairs. No shared entry. No awkward interactions. Just your own private space and a key that opens peace. The house was completely renovated in September 2025, but we made sure to keep the soul intact. The home is shaped by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi ~ the idea that beauty lives in imperfection, age, and things made by hand. Here, textured walls, uneven finishes, and handmade details aren't flaws - they’re the whole point. It’s the kind of place where chipped clay cups and warm bamboo lights feel just right. There’s honesty in how it looks, and calm in how it feels. Every room has a theme. Every lamp has a backstory. We’ve collected pieces over the years not to impress - but to belong. There’s a small kitchen with induction, microwave, fridge, and basic cutlery. But we quietly hope you don’t use it too much - because Upland Salt, our boutique cloud kitchen, is right next door, and as our guest, you get a flat 20% off. Smoking and drinking? Totally fine. We trust you to keep it relaxed and respectful. If you’re into more herbal ways to unwind, we don’t judge - just keep it discreet. Shoes off indoors. Slippers, socks, or barefoot wandering - all welcome, just not outside dirt. Planning to invite friends over? Lovely. Just give us a heads-up. If it’s 6 or more people, we treat it as a party booking (with a different rate). Wabi House is couple-friendly, pet-welcoming, and made for anyone who appreciates a bit of quiet, a touch of character, and a home that feels like it has nothing to prove. Guest access You get the entire ground floor to yourself. No sharing. No interruptions. There’s a peaceful park right across the house - great for morning walks or late-night air. Rooftop access required? It’s sometimes available. Just ask on the day of check-in. Other things to note • This isn't a hotel. Don't expect hotel-style services. It's a real home with quirks, charm, and a serious lamp addiction. • Couple & LGBTQ+ friendly • We do allow early check-in and late check-out. Please check with the host if it's available. (Luggage can be kept if unavailable) • Room cleaning is done every 3rd day, or on request between 9 am and 2 pm. Just text us. • Wabi House - Quiet hours are from 12 am to 5 am. No curfew for entry and exit as well, just keep it mellow. • Smoking and drinking are allowed. If your idea of unwinding includes a little herbal peace ;) , we trust you to be discreet and respectful. • No shoes indoors. Slippers, socks, or enlightened bare feet - all good in the Wabi House • If you cook, please wash your dishes. We don’t charge a cleaning fee, and we’d like to keep it that way. • If you're planning a get-together with 5 or more people, it's considered a party booking and needs prior approval. • No balloons or decorations allowed without prior intimation only. • Rooftop access is sometimes possible. (depending on the day of the week) Just ask. • Pets are allowed. Indie/rescue dogs get free food and bonus cuddles. • Please inform us before booking if you’re bringing a dog, so we can prep the space to be pet-friendly. • No animals live on the property, so it's allergy-safe. • For bookings from Oct 15, 2025, we provide premium bath amenities by The Indian Apothecary Collection by Kimirica - handwash, shower gel, and shampoo. • Drinking water is provided in 20L AquaGuard refillable canisters. No bottled plastic mess. • Tea and coffee sachets are stocked on request. • Basic kitchen amenities like salt, pepper, etc aren't kept in the kitchen but shall be provided upon request. • Should you be expecting any parcel during the stay (or even before/after) and are not in the property there is always someone to receive it so don't worry.
