A relaxing oasis for adults and kids alike, our 1930s Cape Cod is situated along a quiet walking/biking trail and is well-equipped for long and short stays alike. Enjoy our indoor fireplace on cold winter nights, the breezy screened-in porch for your morning coffee or evening drink, and river frontage for hot sunny days. We are an easy drive to State College for athletics, graduation, etc., and close proximity to excellent hiking, fishing, skiing, and water recreation. The space Our property lies along the Juniata River, which you can watch flow peacefully along from both the back porch and bedroom windows. The house is equipped with a sizeable kitchen (brand new stainless steel appliances, including gas range and dishwasher), a beautiful formal dining room, large living room with gas fireplace, and plenty of storage throughout (including in the bedrooms). For those in need of fast internet, the home is equipped with 200 mbps internet from Xfinity. This also enables us to offer YouTubeTV to all of our guests, which includes just about every channel one could want (think 12 college football games at once!) and unlimited DVR. Outside, both pets and young kids can run free in our fenced-in yard while mom/dad grill supper on the gas grill. Our yard has direct access to the "tow path" -- a scenic walking trail along the river, built where mules once towed Pennsylvania Canal boats along the Juniata. The path ends in beautiful Victory Park to the east of the property. Guests also enjoy direct access to the Juniata, as we maintain a scenic sitting area below the tow path. This area includes a cement pier for launching canoes and kayaks--and for bass and walleye fishing. Guests also have access to the garage, as well as other off-street parking. Guest access All guests will be given electronic access to the property through the front door keypad. This keypad is equipped with technology that enables guests to customize their access code to something they are more easily able to recall. Other things to note As a native of Mifflin County, I am proud to open our home to visitors in our area. I am a professor and live in the home with my family during the summer months--and love every minute of it.
