Cozy and modern cabin in the country. Newly renovated, master loft en suite with two other bedrooms and a second full bath. Close to ski resorts, hiking, Lime Rock Park, amazing antique stores, and other outdoor activities. Minutes from Great Barrington in the foothills of the Berkshires, this cabin is close to dozens of delicious restaurants, and fully equipped for you to spend a cozy night in with loved ones. Guests have year round access to the firepit and the pool in season. The space Safety • Fire extinguisher is located inside the basement door. • There is a Pool Safety alarm on the door to the back deck. You need to push the button to disable the alarm before opening or if it goes off. Once you’ve pushed the button you have 30 seconds to go outside and close the door before the alarm sounds. The Indoor button is high, the button to get back into the house is doorbell height. • The First Aid kit is located in the cabinet over the toilet in the downstairs bathroom. There is additional rubbing alcohol, peroxide and BandAids in the same cabinet. • If there is a power outage, there are plug in flashlights located around the house that are ready to go. • The breaker box is located in the basement if a fuse is blown. You will need to enter the "private" section of the basement beyond the barn door to access. Garbage • There is a garbage shed to the right of the big garage/barn. There is a blue can for recyclables, and the other can(s) for trash. Garbage and recycle pick-up is every Friday. Pool/Outdoor Living • If you use the pool heater, please remember to turn it off before you depart. The temperature has been set to 85 degrees, and is regulated by the owners. The pool heater is the large unit on the left, there’s a flip up cover to access the on/off switch. To use, simply flip the switch to on. • The pool is vacuumed twice a week by the pool company we use for maintenance. • There are a couple of pool floats in the small garage for your use. • Pool towels are located in a Rubbermaid bin at the bottom of the stairs to the loft. • The grill is hooked up to the propane tank that also heats the pool. There is an on/off valve, please remember to close it when you’re done bbq-ing. Living Room • Remote controls for the TV, DVD player, and living room ceiling fan (and light) are located on the coffee table or end tables. • TV Channel Guide is in the Welcome Binder, or you can go to xfinity.com and search for your favorites. • The firewood alongside the small garage is for your use. Lighter, newspaper, long matches and fire starter sticks are located in the bottom drawer next to the refrigerator. Please make sure the flue is open, if it’s not, the house will fill with smoke! • There is a pullout bed in the couch and extra sheets for this bed in the bedroom with the full-sized bed downstairs. • We do not have a coat closet, however there is a coat hanger next to the basement door. There are also wooden hooks/hangers in the room with the full bed. • The switch on the molding of the front door controls the outdoor porch fans if you’re enjoying a warm summer night outside. • The ceiling fan light in the living room is dimmable, just hold down the lightbulb button to lower or brighten the light. • Board games and movies are located in the TV cabinet. • Seasonal note: Please feel free to plug in the Christmas tree, but remember to unplug before you go out. Thank you! Kitchen • VERY IMPORTANT: The sink garbage disposal only grinds fruits and veggies…no meat please or hard skins such as oranges, banana peels or corn husks. The switch to turn it on is under the sink on the right. • Help yourself to some coffee (next to the Keurig). There is also some tea in the Cabinet above the coffee maker. • Sugar, Salt, pepper, and some other spices are located in the cabinet over the coffee maker. • Tabs for the dishwasher are under the sink. • Pot holders are located in the cabinet to the left off the stove. • Plates, glasses, pots, pans, etc. are all available for your use. • Paper napkins are above the microwave. • If you need to wipe the kitchen table, you can use any of the products under the sink except the bleach cleaner. • The kitchen fridge is all yours. We have well water and a water softener and prefer drinking bottled water, but there’s nothing wrong with the tap. The water softener goes off around 2am, and according to our plumber, if you take water from the faucet at that time it could be a little salty from the softener. • Closet next to the loft stairs has extra garbage bags, broom, vacuum, and Swiffer if you need. • Kitchen outlets are located under the upper cabinets. Bunk Bed Room • Extra sheets for bunk beds are located in the drawers of the bunkbed steps. • Extra blankets are located in the closet in the larger closet in this room. You will also find guest towels here, as well as an iron and ironing board. • Sheets for the futon can be found in the closet in the room across the hall with the full sized bed. • The small closet in this room is reserved for owners use. Full Bed Room • Extra sheets and blanket are located in the closet. • Guest towels are located in the same closet. Downstairs Bath • First Aid kit and other first aid items are located in the cabinet above the toilet. • Wash cloths and extra toilet paper are located in the cabinet above the toilet. There is also a hairdryer here. • Bathroom cleaning products are under the sink in this bathroom. We keep the bathroom cleaning products away from the kitchen ones. Loft • Extra sheets for the loft bed are located in the closet to the right of the fireplace. Guest towels, wash cloths and hand towels for the upstairs bath are also located in this closet. • The dresser is empty for your use. • The closet to the left of the fireplace, and to the right of the bathroom next to the bed are reserved for owner’s use. Loft Bathroom • Extra toilet paper is above the toilet in the little cubby to the left. • This bathroom is an addition and there is a separate thermostat for this room located on the wall to the left of the medicine cabinet. We are not able to control this thermostat from home, so please turn it down to 65 before departing. • Guest towels are in the loft closet to the right of the fireplace. Laundry • The washer and dryer are available for your use if needed. They are located in the basement, and we do provide some detergents and fabric softeners. Off Limits We thank you for staying at our home, and appreciate your respect for our belongings. Please note, the large Barn is off limits to guests. There are two owner closets in the loft, and one in the bunk bed room that we reserve for our use. The basement fridge is also off limits. We have some tools for home repair and emergencies in the basement, but ask that you please contact us in the event of an emergency. We do have a contractor close by who can assist if needed. Thank you! Guest access The large barn and smaller garage on the property are private for the owner. There are two locked closets in the loft and one in the bunkbed room reserved for owner’s use, as well as a locked cabinet in the bedroom with the full bed.
