Hi, I'm Melanie, an AirBnB Superhost originally from Lambertville NJ (see Secret Garden). For years I've had a dream to host guests in some beautiful distant locale. And that dream came true this year as I proudly open the Cracked Mug, a 3-bedroom BnB in the heart of the island village on Monhegan, an unbridged island 12 miles out to sea off of Midcoast Maine. I love to cook and it's fun to share my creations with my guests. One special treat is our Signature Sweet - my Mother's French Coffee Cake. This recipe - a soft sour cream cake with a dark chocolate and cinnamon swirl - goes back more than 6 decades to my Dad's navy days. It's always out, so help yourself to a slice anytime you like. We are BED serious at the Cracked Mug. Choose one of our four guest rooms at the Cracked Mug. Two have Queen beds, and the other has 2 Twins. But they're all made up with delicious Eucalyptus bedding (Eucalyptus is the new Egyptian cotton, they say) As is typical for island life, guests share the 1 1/2 baths, plus a gorgeous water view outdoor shower! You'll have wifi access, but we encourage you to put your devices in your bedroom's lockbox and see what happens when your brain gets to unplug. During your stay As your host, I'll be on site every day, introducing you to locals for unique experiences like Trap-to-Table, and helping you with everything from trail maps to dining ideas.
