Description
The Cotswolds Bothy is a 17th century Cotswolds stone building in our lovely garden in Gloucestershire. Inside it's warm and cosy with double bed, clothes storage, mini fridge and wifi. A new bathroom is in a stone building 20 feet across the garden. There's a terrace for breakfast and a hammock. This part of the Cotswolds is cultured and eco-friendly. In our nearest town, Stroud, are independent shops, cafes and arty events - it's like Notting Hill back in the 1970s, bohemian in atmosphere. The space This is a unique tranquil little Cotswold stone building. Inside it's a cosy bedroom where you can relax and enjoy peace and quiet and yet easily access some of the most interesting cultural and arty life outside London. You can eat your breakfast at the table on our garden terrace and relax in the hammock afterwards. Our village is a hamlet - very quiet and rural with just 20 or so houses. The nearest local pub, which also serves food, is a 10 minute walk through beautiful countryside. Another lovely local pub and our local shop offering organic food are a 20 minute walk down quiet country lanes, or a five minute car drive. The nearest town is Stroud which is a 15 minute drive away. Stroud is all about arts and crafts, eco-friendly and community. On Saturday mornings there's a great farmers market, which was launched by Jasper Conran and Isabella Blow. There are lots of quirky cafes and cool arts venues in Stroud, with something going on almost every day. Opposite the Bothy, 20 feet away across the garden, is a Cotswold stone outhouse into which we've installed a brand new bathroom. It's a lovely heated wet room with rain shower and hand held shower. As you need to walk 20 feet to the bathroom, down a few steps, it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. Guest access You have total private access to the Cotswolds Bothy and your own bathroom 20 feet across the garden opposite the Bothy. They have their own entrances in the garden of our house, so you can come and go as you please. Other things to note There are a number of stone steps leading to the Bothy, and also to the bathroom, therefore it is not suitable for anyone in a wheelchair, or with mobility problems. Also the garden is on a slope with uneven surfaces, so having good balance is essential.
