Refuge at the Heart of the Castle!

We are hosting you for more than 13 years and love it! This apartment is a family business from cleaning to checkin and we are aiming to provide you with the best experience for your stay in Lisbon! The unit is a cozy one-bedroom apartment in the Saint George Castle walls (Castelo São Jorge), the oldest historical neighbourhood in Lisbon. You are 10min walking distance from Praça do Comércio and Alfama. Please note this is a very old building and there is limited soundproofing between units. The space We want to continue to provide you with the very same experience to welcoming you personally to answer questions like transportation, which museums, bars and nightlife, restaurants, etc.. and we decided - against the tide - to not provide self check-in that goes against our values and believes of travel etiquette! The apartment is on the first floor of a private building from the 17th century located on one of the 7th hill in Lisbon (the castle's hill). In this neighbourhood you have gorgeous views at every corner and will see clothes drying in the streets, open door with neighbours chitchatting about football or politics, cobbled streets and historic architecture. There are many local bars and restaurants nearby including the world famous Chapitô with its stunning views and circus school. However we are flexible with check-in and check-out times, so depending on your travel schedule, we’ll do our best to accommodate you. - Early (before 07:00) or late (after 22:00) arrivals will have an extra charge of 25.00 euros. Guest access Full access to the entire apartment Other things to note We want you to have a memorable stay and you can contact us for tips, specific restaurants reservation (we do our best but can not do miracles to get you a specific table 1h before :), museums, etc... TELEVISION There is no TV in the apartment, we love a non-TV world but understand there's a lot of people who don't agree with this philosophy. However, try to enjoy your stay in a different way. Take advantage of these few days you're staying to explore out and relax in. We are sure you will find Lisbon very entertaining and have also a good collection of books available to read with background music. Really hope you won't even miss TV while here! >>> Uber drivers are not allowed to get into this historical zone but regular taxis do.
