Twin room: “Emma” mattresses, light and airy. Double room: Laura Ashley mattress, driftwood accents. Three separate living spaces = room for everyone Blend of Victorian charm + Scandi simplicity Family-friendly touches: printer, board games, books, washer/dryer Central yet peaceful location Guest access Sea Proche benefits from free on-street parking outside the house, though this is on a first come, first served basis. There is also a paid car park 150m down the road. Bus stops with buses to almost anywhere on the Island are just 200m away from the front door. Sandown's train station, with connections to the Mainland, is a direct, easy 15 minute walk away. Other things to note Sea Proche is a delightful place to stay, all year round. A new springtime brings daffodils to the cliff tops and bluebells in the woods. Increasing daylight hours and higher than average sunshine means 'spring is sprung' earlier on the Island than even nearby Mainland locales, and up to a month earlier than more northerly climes. Chase away winter blues with blustery meanders along the Islands many pathways - some from right outside the front door - and spend Easter hunting chocolate eggs in the grounds of stately homes or on the gentle rolling downlands... In peak season, high Summer days want nothing more than a quick stroll to the award winning beach with its Med style loungers and sun shades, swimming in the safe shallow waters with the children (under the watchful eye of the lifeguards), lunch can be taken in one of the beachside cafe-bar's (the Sundial is close to perfect) or just nip back to Sea Proche to rustle up a picnic. Afternoons are for sunbathing in the glorious light, as the kids build castles in the sand... Perhaps a particularly glorious September day will tempt you into the still-warm sea...and the rich golden light of those early autumn days is just perfect for SUP and kayak paddles across the calmer waters of the Bay, to the rugged beaches at Yaverland in the North, or South to the neighbouring town of Shanklin with its beach side pubs and the Chine. Later into autumn, and the cooler months bring white capped waves and temperatures perfect for long, peaceful walks along the now quiet beaches, or up onto the wind buffeted Downs...or perhaps you'll be tempted to simply wrap up in seasonal knitwear and watch the autumn waves crash on the sea shore from a coastal cafe or pub... Mid-winter and its short, dark days bring fairy lights and Scandi style decorations to the house. Yet there are still plentiful bright sunny days on the Bay, with plenty of walks and local pubs to hole up in. Better yet, nestle on the sofa back at Sea Proche, toasty warm, as your home made loaf of bread bakes in the oven, or a hot stew plips and burbles on the stove - the Solent winds blowing in vain ouside... Whatever the season, and however you spend your day, be assured that Sea Proche will wrap you in a welcoming embrace on your return, with deep leather seating, soft enveloping blankets and sumptuous cosy beds.
