Silver Leaf Vineyard & Winery invites you to enjoy a secluded stay in our rustic cottage. The cozy log cottage boasts spectacular views of our vineyard and neighboring cherry orchard. We are located in the heart of Leelanau Peninsula which was voted one of the top 3 appellations (official wine growing region) in the country by USA Today. (NOTE: TWO DAY MINIMUM FOR WEEKEND STAYS) Mark Lienau, your host and owner of Silver Leaf Vineyard & Winery, invites you to enjoy a secluded stay in our rustic cottage. The cozy log cottage boasts spectacular views of our vineyard and neighboring cherry orchard. Enjoy a bottle of wine while gazing at the scenery on the deck seating or back porch. Without phone or television, this is the ideal stress-free escape. The cottage is equipped with a king-size bed for two, heat, ceiling fan in lieu of AC, full shower, and comfortable enclosed seating area. Amenities include hair dryer, coffeemaker, refrigerator , microwave, and an assortment of books, magazines, and board games. Additional dishware, linens, and towels are made available for weekly guests upon request. Enjoy our vineyard grounds. Picnic near the cedars of the vineyard. Take a walk on our two-mile trail thru the vineyard, woods, and cherry orchard. Shop & dine in nearby Suttons Bay. And of course, this makes a perfect base camp for enjoying a day of wine tasting on the Leelanau wine trail as well as our neighbors to the east on Old Mission. You will also be a short drive from downtown Traverse City. Each guest is entitled to a complimentary wine tasting and case discounts. Check-in is at the tasting room anytime after 4p although we can usually accompany earlier check-ins or luggage drop off upon request. NOTE: The Cottage is only available from May 1st through October 31st. Any booking outside of this will need to be canceled by the guest. In addition to the cabin, you will have access to our +2 miles of hiking trails and are free to wander the vineyard and our neighbor's cherry orchards (please respect their property). Feel free to use the tasting room deck after hours as well. I will be here during normal business hours (Sat-Fri from 10:30-6p and Sunday from noon-5p). I live right down the hill and will give you as much privacy as you wish, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions, need any help, or time permitting just want to chat for awhile. Working in the tasting room as made me naturally chatty. You are at the center of Michigan's Wine County in Suttons Bay. And yes, we also have a few microbrews as well. A short trip down the hill will take you to the Leelanau Sands Casino. There is a little bit of everything for everyone here. Suttons Bay is the gateway to Leelanau County and lies midway up the eastern shore of Leelanau Peninsula. This year ‘round coastal village has a quality all its' own…specialty shops, galleries, unique dining experiences, and a variety of festivals make this place a truly ‘walkable village'. Marina Park is an ideal spot for a family day at the beach. With hiking trails at Bahle Park and the TART trail on the edge of town, you can bike, hike or run to your hearts' content. Surrounded by rolling vineyards you will find yourself in the heart of Michigan wine country. So pick your adventure – golf, shop, a day at the beach, savor the local fare and award-winning wines (we are hoping for the wines obviously). Take your time – catch your breath – relax. Because we are at the heart of the Leelanau Northern Loop Wine Trail we have experience with may tour companies that can arrange private tours or as part of a group. There are many people we can personally recommend to show you around if you would rather spend a day not driving. Most do both winery & brewery tours or can mix them up. They do get very busy during peak season so it is best to book with them early especially if you would like a more private tour. This is a working vineyard/farm so we may need to be working the fields, but will definitely let you know and try and work around your schedule as much as possible. So if we ask your schedule on certain days, it is not to be nosy but to plan around tractor or other work that may need to be done. There will be tasting room traffic during normal hours. We will be happy to open a bit early or stay open later to accommodate your schedule especially during events. From time to time we do have a fire pit available but that all depends on how dry it has been as up here on the peninsula it can tend to be fairly dry. But, that is good too since you have more time to explore the outdoors!
