A wonderful quiet cottage set in the village of Chinley in the heart of the Peak District National Park. With 360 views gorgeous at any time of the year. You'll find us half a mile off the main road . . . down a bumpy single track lane. It's well worth it to discover this delightful single floor cottage that provides perfect traditional secluded accommodation for families or groups of friends wishing to explore the beautiful Peak District. The space This quirky ‘Tardis’ of a cottage offers the choice of 2 delightful double bedrooms plus a loft room ideal for children or adults willing to duck! Beds Include 2 king-sized, the third loft room with height restriction has 3 single beds suitable for children or teens. The two main bedrooms have en suite one with a roll top bath where you can enjoy a relaxing soak after a day on your feet and a second en suite has a wet room style shower, there is also a handy ground floor WC. Boasting breathtaking 360 views of the peaks in the shadows of Cracken Edge, surrounded by farm land owned by us this open plan cottage is ideal for entertaining. BBQ area with BBQ. Open plan Kitchen with a double Rangemaster oven and American style fridge freezer, stone / wooden floors throughout and log burners in both living room and conservatory this Derbyshire cottage is a treat to return to after a day of exploration. Within the village less than 1 mile away is a village store, post office, cheese shop, tea rooms, newsagent, butcher, chemist, deli, Indian restaurant, fish and chip shop, launderette and “dog friendly” pubs within 10 minutes walking distance of the property. Chapel-en- le- Frith is 10 minutes drive away with Morrisons & Aldi stores and a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. Whaley Bridge is a 10 minute drive with a Tesco and again shops, pubs and restaurants. Manchester and Stockport are a 25 minute drive away or a 30 minute direct train journey. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. There are fantastic walks from the cottage to “dog friendly” pubs. Most of the pubs in the area welcome well behaved dogs. The closest (and most beautiful) is The Old Hall and The Papermill pubs in the hamlet of Whitehough, which hosts an annual beer and cider festival (10 minutes walk), beautiful old buildings which serve fantastic food & beer and good wines with a gorgeous walled beer garden and picnic blankets. A little further on (20 minutes) easy walk along the old tram lines and canal is the Navigation in the historic Bugsworth Basin and this walk continues along the to Marple and Marple Bridge. The beautiful village of Hayfield is nearby and the old spa town of Buxton with its spectacular Opera House is a 15 minute drive (or 5 minute train journey) away. A walkers and cyclists paradise - there are fantastic walks and cycle trails from the doorstep and being in the Peak district and within 5 minutes drive of Kinder Scout National Nature reserve, close to Edale, Castleton and Hope Valley is an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and climbers. There is a beautiful 18 hole golf course with magnificent views over Combs Reservoir at Chapel-en-le-Frith, a 3 minute drive away. Nearby attractions include Chatsworth House & Estate, Castleton – Blue John Mines and underground caverns by boat, the famous Bakewell, Ladybarn Reservoir, Buxton Pavillion Gardens and Opera House. Children will love the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom at Matlock Bath, The Chestnut Otter & Owl Centre in Chapel en le Frith and the Tissington and Monsall trails which are easy, flat cycle paths (cycles can be hired at the trails) along old railway tracks. Other things to note There are 2 ponds in the garden children must be supervised at all times. Small pond in front garden.
