Rustic & romantic, our cozy cabin has vaulted ceilings, original paneling, a wood-burning fireplace, and a fully outfitted kitchen. The backyard is the National Forest. The front deck is lovely for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The space Romantic, rustic, one-bedroom 1930s cabin. 650 square feet. WINTER NOTES: Built in 1930, the cabin can be cold! Especially at night and especially in the bedroom. The central heating has some trouble keeping up when it’s cold, so we recommend bringing ample warm clothing. Extra blankets are provided. We try to provide firewood, but please bring your own if you want to be sure of the supply. In snowy conditions, CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED for access up the mountain and for driving on roads in general. Please check weather and road conditions by contacting CalTrans, The National Weather Service, etc. The mountain road is windy. Ice, snow, and fog can be present. Part of our road is steep, and although plowed by the city, plows may not arrive before your departure. PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED as the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions. Thank you! 2024: The cabin has been freshly painted & the fireplace has been upgraded! Additionally, properties in the surrounding area were damaged due to the extreme storm. The city and owners have been contacted to improve their dwellings. Improvements have been made, and work still has to be done. We have limitations on what we can control. If this is of concern to you, please consider your booking accordingly. Our home features 1 bedroom with a California King-sized bed, a wood-burning fireplace, and a queen-sized pull-out sofa in the living room (plus a twin inflatable in the closet). Our backyard is the National Forest and is great for hiking/exploring. Central heating plus window air conditioner. WiFi, games, books, and over 400 VHS tapes (and a DVD player too!). Fully outfitted kitchen with dishwasher, oven, fridge, microwave oven and toaster oven, coffee maker, garbage disposal, etc. Simple, funky, basic bathroom with tub/shower combination. Deck with patio set and umbrella. The front deck sits just above Bear Springs Road (cars sometimes go by!) and is surrounded by trees and shrubs for privacy (although some lose their leaves in the winter). Our lilac trees bloom in the spring! Rental includes linens, utilities, firewood (if we don't run out!), and cleaning services. Fair warning: you're in the forest so there can be ants, spiders, and mice (and barking neighborhood dogs!), although we work hard to try and control these as best we can. Parking is available for 3 cars minimum on a large shared driveway. 2 Night Minimum. The cleaning fee is $100, including all linens. It is located in a residential neighborhood with other homes/cabins nearby. 5 minutes to charming Blue Jay Village. 10 to either Lake Arrowhead or Lake Gregory. Close to shops and restaurants. Guests of the cabin do not have lake access. Winter: our road is plowed by the city, but the driveway is not. We will do our best to supply a snow shovel. Wood-burning fireplace (again, firewood is sometimes available depending on other guests' usage. Please supply your own if you want to be sure). Deck and patio furniture in front. National Forest in the back. Trash and Recycling cans are available in the driveway. Please dispose of items properly and be sure to securely close the lids. Cell reception can be poor depending on your carrier. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home. The day before arrival, a four-digit code for the lockbox (located on the front door) will be sent. Simply return the key and re-lock upon departure!
