Description

Escape to our rustic, romantic cabin featuring vaulted ceilings, original paneling, and a wood-burning fireplace. The fully outfitted kitchen has everything you need. Step directly into the National Forest from the backyard, or relax on the front deck with your morning coffee or evening wine. Enjoy fast Wi-Fi (114.2/11.3 Mbps), a Smart TV with Alexa, a versatile music player (vinyl, CD, cassette, Bluetooth), DVDs, VHS, games, and books. Comfort is assured with heating and air conditioning. The space Discover Our Romantic 1930s Forest Cabin Step back in time to our charming and rustic one-bedroom cabin, built in 1930. This 650 square foot retreat offers a cozy and intimate escape, perfect for a romantic getaway amidst the natural beauty of the forest. Embrace the Winter Charm: Experience true cabin living! Built in 1930, our cabin offers a genuine winter experience. While the central heating works, the evenings, particularly in the bedroom, can be quite cool. We highly recommend packing extra warm clothing to ensure your comfort. We provide additional blankets, and while we strive to supply firewood for the upgraded fireplace, bringing your own is recommended to guarantee a cozy fire. Navigating Winter Roads: Winter conditions mean CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED on mountain roads. Prior to your trip, please consult CalTrans or The National Weather Service for current weather and road conditions. Our winding mountain road can be challenging with ice, snow, and fog. A portion of our road is steep and, though plowed by the city, may not be cleared before your arrival or departure. Please be adequately prepared for winter driving, as we cannot be held responsible for weather or road conditions. Recent Enhancements & Important Details: We are delighted to share some recent upgrades to the cabin, including a fresh coat of paint and a recently upgraded fireplace, which add to its cozy charm! It's important to note that this is a neighborhood cabin, not a remote one. The cabin is situated directly on a busy road, so you should expect traffic noise during the day. You may also hear sounds from nearby neighbors. For orientation, there are two properties to the right as you face the cabin and an open lot to the left. If you are looking for a secluded, isolated getaway, this cabin may not be the best fit for you. You'll notice some ongoing improvements in the surrounding area due to extreme storm damage. While the city and owners are actively working on repairs, there are elements beyond our control. Please consider this when making your booking. Your Cabin Amenities: Relax in comfort with a California King-sized bed in the bedroom, a crackling wood-burning fireplace, and a queen-sized pull-out sofa in the living room (a twin inflatable is also available). Our backyard is literally the National Forest, offering incredible opportunities for hiking and exploring right from your doorstep. The cabin features central heating and a window air conditioner for year-round comfort. We provide WiFi, a selection of games, books, and a vast collection of over 400 VHS tapes (plus a DVD player!). The fully outfitted kitchen has everything you need: dishwasher, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and garbage disposal. The bathroom is a simple, basic space with a tub/shower combination. Enjoy the fresh air on the front deck, complete with a patio set and umbrella. It sits just above Bear Springs Road (you might hear cars pass occasionally!) and is privately screened by trees and shrubs, which lose some leaves in winter. Our beautiful lilac trees burst into bloom in the spring! Your stay includes: linens, utilities, firewood (when available), and cleaning services. A Note on Nature: Being immersed in the forest means you might encounter natural elements like ants, spiders, or mice, and hear neighborhood dogs barking. We diligently work to control these as best we can. Parking: Ample parking is available for at least 3 cars on our large, shared driveway. Convenient Location & Winter Ready Our cabin is conveniently nestled in a residential neighborhood, just a 5-minute drive from charming Blue Jay Village and 10 minutes from both Lake Arrowhead and Lake Gregory. This puts shops and restaurants within easy reach. Please note, lake access is not included with your stay. Winter Specifics During winter, the city plows our road, but the driveway is not plowed. We provide a snow shovel for your use. Important Notes Please use the provided trash and recycling cans in the driveway and ensure lids are securely closed. Cell reception may vary depending on your provider. We require a minimum stay of 2 nights. A $100 cleaning fee, which includes all linens, applies to each booking. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home. The day before arrival, a four-digit code for the lockbox (located on the front door) will be sent. Simply return the key and re-lock upon departure! Other things to note We want all our guests to have an exceptional time. Please let us know if there's anything further we can do to help achieve that goal! Registration Details CESTRP-2020-01328
