Beechworth beautiful garden cottage

A two-level studio cottage in a gorgeous, cool climate garden: a perfect getaway for two. Beautifully refurbished. The cottage is self-contained and includes a queen bedroom opening to a private deck with barbecue overlooking our Open Gardens Victoria-listed garden. Downstairs is a sitting room, opening to a garden terrace, a separate kitchen with induction cooktop and bathroom. Beechworth, a historic, 19C, gold-era town, is 4km away. The cottage is fully-refurbished and completely self-contained for guests. It features a sunny bedroom upstairs with a comfortable queen-sized bed dressed with fine quality all-cotton linen and natural wool blankets. It opens to a deck with a market umbrella and barbecue overlooking the garden. Downstairs there's a sitting room with comfortable sofa, television and dining table, new kitchen (2021) with fridge + freezer, microwave, induction cooktop, utensils and toaster and kettle. Beyond the kitchen is a recently-refurbished bathroom. Reverse-cycle air-conditioning is available in the upstairs bedroom while the downstairs rooms remain cool on the warmest days. On our cooler autumn, winter and spring evenings there's an electric wall-heater. We are happy to help with anything you need to make you comfortable while staying with us. Beechworth has excellent eating-out options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many guests enjoy lunch at one of our local wineries and drinks and supper on the deck or in the cottage in the evenings. Our clear night skies are extraordinary. If you're here on a clear night, you'll see twinkling stars and the great swathe of the Milky Way. There are koalas and chocolate swamp wallabies in the adjoining bush, wombats on the verge, echidnas on the hill and a profusion of bird life, large and small. The sunsets are invariably delicious. Our garden has been featured with Open Gardens Victoria and opened for the occasional bus tour group. We're privileged to share stewardship of the garden and home with previous owners - a lot of love and care has gone into this piece of paradise.. Enjoy its seasonality and ask us any questions about our unusual plants. We love living here and we know you'll love visiting. We live in the house alongside and are available for information, advice or conversation. At the same time we respect your private space and keep entirely out of your way as you desire. Guest access Shared: garden, swimming pool, clothes line Parking: guest parking is on the grassed area at the bottom of the drive, outside the gate or outside, to the right of our carport. Please don't park on the lawn or in our carport. Feel free to drive up to unpack when you arrive. Off-limits: hosts' home Other things to note If you have mobile coverage, you will get Telstra from certain places in the garden and possibly from the deck. The signal is not great but we offer wi-fi and your phone will work if you have wi-fi calling selected. Please note that the cottage is non-smoking. We are happy for you to smoke on the deck but please use the ashtray. We love pets but please don’t bring yours. Our dog and chicken are friendly to guests and to each other but don’t appreciate animal visitors.
