Description
Hide away in this romantic little nest. Surrounded by trees and birds in a lush garden with views of the most incredible Noordhoek Beach. Refresh your soul reading books or enjoying breakfast on the balcony or work in peace. The unit is the upstairs unit of a house. Its private but there is a long termvery quiet and often absent tenant downstairs who shares the pool. All other amenities are private (entrance, balcony etc). Please read the full description before booking! The space The bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and a day bed used as a couch, there is also a rocking chair and french doors leading out to the balcony with a table for two. the bathroom is a separate room with walk in shower. The kitchen provides a combination of cooking and living and working space with a couch, four seater table and a desk. We currently do not have an oven but a full stove, microwave, toaster, kettle and cooking tools. PLEASE NOTE: Our houses are best for adventurers at heart and they come with small little niggles. Also, the thatch may give people with allergies and asthma some breathing issues, please don't book the house in that case, other than that it has a natural thatch smell which people either love or hate (we find it cozy). We are very passionate about describing our listings accurately to correctly set expectations at the risk of appearing off-putting but we just believe that happy guests are the best guests :) So please read before booking: the unit does not have a fireplace because of the thatch and is on the colder side in winter. If you are used to central heating and want to spend the full day in the house then better book in summer. We do provide an electric heater but only of reasonable use such as 4 hrs during the day. This is basic accommodation - if you like camping then you will love it. if you like your luxuries this house is not for you. Think more Huckleberry Fynn than Hilton For Loadshedding back up we have an uninterrupted power supply only for the internet, in addition we provide two rechargeable lights . The doors and windows and some taps are recycled antiques so they may be a bit wobbly or rattle or swell up a bit in the wind and not open and close as smoothly as a city new aluminium window. As they are old doors we use some basic bolts to secure them, if you are a security focussed person you may perceive that as insufficient. Please also note that these houses are in nature - that means the occasional insect, spider or mouse can find its way in there and possibly not out again. This is Africa and while we try and discourage any of these unwanted tenants and make sure they don't occur on a regular basis it may happen that you encounter one during your stay. We ensure that there is no infestation by means of live trapping but are also ethically agains poisoning as it ends up in the food chain and kills owls, birds etc. - we use lovely old furniture and doors and finishings but that means that a window or door or cupboard may not close as tightly or that a doorknob and or door may seem more wobbly than in a modern newly built house, or that the bed may squeak a little when you sit down hard on it we do allow pets at the property and we clean thoroughly after each stay but for example a very hairy cat may have left the odd hair or two, that escaped the cleaners so if you are highly allergic to pet hair, this may affect you Read the reviews - our house is fiercely loved by many of our guests as they give you a break from the shackles of suburban clinical life but please bring a bit of an adventure spirit with you :) If you like living in a sterile clean suburban house with high walls around and all luxuries that life has to offer then this may no be the right place for you. Guest access Guest have access to the full unit as described as well as the pool area and if agreed with the downstairs tenant the main garden as well. There is a dedicated parking spot for the unit. The pool area is shared with John, the friendly quiet long term tenant of the lower unit Other things to note The unit may be a bit on the cold side in winter, we do have a mobile heater there but if you are very sensitive to that and want a very warm space it may be better to book in summer
