The space It is an apartment located in the few areas of the island even unspoiled to tourism , located in a small fishing village that continues to use the ancestral fishing methods. Other things to note A-38-4-0005412 As a fishing village, you can enjoy the arrival of fishing boats at the small pier, a spectacle worth experiencing. For years, the inhabitants of El Pris neighborhood have attempted to constitute themselves as a community of the faithful and favor the construction of a temple of their own, under the sailor of the Virgin of Carmen. This construction, for various reasons, and in different locations, had been frustrated. The image of the Virgin, of great devotion and tradition among the neighbors, was deposited in the fishermen's brotherhood, until it could be returned to a place of worship. In an area without architectural references, where self-construction buildings circulate, the projected building is intended to complete the facade of the complex built on the rock. The challenge was to integrate without imposing itself, so that the grouping of homes did not lose its character. The chapel is projected as a single cylindrical volume, truncated at the top. As servant spaces, a small prayer space for the fishermen of the area is projected, as a cave, and a sacristy. The altar is oriented to the north. The circular space where the assembly is located is an open space with no differentiation of heights. A single monolithic bench, born from the wall, will house the necessary seating spaces around the altar table. In the continuity of the wall, a Via Crucis composed of 14 stars rebuilt in the wall is projected. Above the downed concrete altarpiece there is an important entrance of ashlight, through a blue glass, which qualifies the resulting space. At the material level, the construction is of great character, the simplicity of the materials used and the use of resources such as natural lighting, give the building an ascetic character. The downed concrete altarpiece contains blue glass in its dough, which comes from the earth's bottles of white wine that we share with the neighbors of El Pris after the first stone was laid. The proximity that forms the projection on the floor of the temple, represents the femininity of the virgin Mary, the mother figure that embraces the faithful. Thus, the Virgen del Carmen presides over the space, placing herself in the north as a metaphor for her role as a guide to sailors during the night, the Stella Maris or Star of the Sea.
