The Rookery - Eat out enjoy walking the 5 valleys

The Rookery, detached, compact and bijou stone built guest-suite at Peartree Cottage. Its facilities are comfortable and welcoming. Ideally giving a cosy retreat for between 2-4 days, due to limited facilities. East facing, walks from here to the ancient beech woods at the end of the lane add to your sense of freedom, and joins the Cotswold Way. So ideal for Hikers exploring the Cotswolds and wanting to Eat Out in Stroud, the well known Market Town and surrounding villages. 1 small dog ok The space The Rookery, with its King Size bed, comfortable mattress, and fluffy towels is welcoming, compact and bijou. We are in Whiteshill 2 miles from Stroud and has minimal stay of 2 nights and suggested max of 4 nights. The comfort of the king size bed will ensure a good night sleep, in cooler months there is a heated electric blanket, and a small but comfortable sofa to snuggle up with candle light and watch the TV with a selection of DVDs to choose from. This space also has the kitchenette arrangement which has teas, coffee, sugar; and provides you with MICROWAVE, Kettle, Toaster, Mini fridge. (also use of cool box). NO Cooker/Hob If necessary we can help heat anything up that requires an oven. WASHING UP can be done in the black bowls provided, with hot water from the sink in the shower room) see photos. There is a list of Takeaways who deliver and local pubs. The Shower room is a good size with a door into large walk in wardrobe, with hanging space and is big enough to stow your luggage bags. This contains useful items such as maps, local walk books, DVDs. Hair-drier under the sink one SMALL to MEDIUM dog is welcome if it is friendly. Please bring it's bed and keep off the furniture, thanks.. be aware we have a Border Terrier and a dainty Tortoiseshell cat who may welcome you with enthusiasm. A fan is provided for your use in warm weather. A box on the right of the door is provided to stow your shoes. Your comfort is important to us so please text if we can assist in anyway. The property welcomes you with a large shared drive, with a single car parking space on the right as you drive; under a clematis next to the fence on the right as you drive in; more parking is available on request. Bicycles can be stowed in our garage. The aspect is East facing and breakfast can be taken in the full morning sun, outside on the table and chairs provided. see photos. A shared patio, with loungers, is available for your use. on the top lawn. Loungers available to use just ask. I CAN provide a breakfast box with ] Bread( small loaf), 4 Croissants, cereals, cornflakes or muesli, milk, orange juice, jam/marmalade at an additional price of £15. Text me a few days before arrival with your preferences. You are just a stone’s throw from our house, but you can relax in a feeling of privacy with a wall and trellis separating the two residences. Sherman Woods is at the end of our lane providing walks only minutes away . Amazing walks and astonishing Views from Selsley Common, with the history embedded at Coaley Peak, roaming cattle on Minchinhampton Common; ice-cream at Rodborogh Common, views at Haresfield Beacon. Our local pub The Star is under new management and is good. they do breakfast but do book night before. The Rookery is a 15 minute drive from the M5 junction 13 via the A419; or J12 via Haresfield (narrow lane). There is a Raiway station in Stroud. The line from London to Cheltenham. 40 Minute walk from Stroud town centre, or a no 63 bus trip to and from the end of the road into Stroud, the bus station by the Vue Cinema. We are also on the bus route to historic Gloucester. We are just 30 minutes’ drive from Cheltenham with all its festivals and race course and 40 from historic Bristol. Guest access You will have your own parking space on the right as you drive in and use of outside table/chairs. You will have a microwave, but If you need to heat a pizza or anything requiring an oven then let us know. I'm sure we can help. Otherwise you are fairly self contained. Other things to note Regarding Pets. please note only one small dog.. Add pet to booking form. There is No Cooker but does have Microwave Basic Facilities. There is an outside table and chairs as shown in the photographs to enjoy the morning sun.
