Entire renovated Kominka House | Teshima

A renovated Japanese retro house on Teshima, exclusively for one group per day. Enjoy a fully private island lifestyle—and if you’re lucky, our cats may visit in the evening. The bedrooms are 6 tatami mats and 8 tatami mats (approx. 26㎡ total). Amenities include one double bed, up to three futon sets (for groups of more than three guests), bath towels, face towels, a mirror, body cream, a wireless charger, a power strip, and art books. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and garden. Please note that the pantry (storage room) and the room next to the entrance is not accessible. If you would like to do laundry, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you. During your stay The host usually stays in the house next door, so please feel free to ask anything about Teshima, the Setouchi area, art sites, or Japanese culture 😊 You’re also very welcome to contact us before your arrival with any questions about getting to Teshima, Naoshima, or Inujima. Other things to note Although the house has been renovated, it remains a traditional Japanese wooden home, and renovations were done only partially. Please note that it does not offer the comfort of a five-star hotel 😊 Instead, we invite you to enjoy the original earthen walls with subtle glitter, a hand-painted Mt. Fuji on a wall, and retro tiled floors in the bathroom and toilet, all preserved as part of the house’s character. Guests may rent our latest electric cross bike, TB1e (¥1,500 per bike).
