Arrive to our lovely cottage situated on rustic Bella Donna Estate with dramatic entrance; Near 70 Lodi wineries & UOP. Cottage comfortably fits 2 w/ full kitchen / internet. Private patio. Also community space we share is garden pool, BBQ, animals, love. We have some recreation items including two cruiser bikes, water cooler, beach or picnic chairs for day outings and floating devices for swimming pool. If you have blue tooth, you can sync up with the outdoor block rocker for music at pool. It's a simply beautiful and historic country property (circa 1928); casual and laid back yet elegant and romantic. Lovingly stewarded and we continue to restore all aspects. The cottage you will stay in is cozy and the estate grounds are perfect to meditate, read, reflect, or swim and sunbath by the gorgeous garden pool. Guests are welcome to use grounds as seating spaces and tables throughout however you have your own gated and private patio that's part of the cottage reservation. Restoration. Guests with well trained pets are welcome and will incur an additional cleaning fee. Private iron gate with remote access. Check-in time is 3:00pm or after. Check-out is up until 11:30 pm on day of departure. Interaction is made upon your arrival greeting and departure farewell by host, David & Mary. As this is our family home you may engage family members on the property grounds as well yet we have discovered that's fairly minimal - so your space in the cottage is really your own during reservation. Tree lined lane, snaking its way thru cherry groves and other orchards and farms. By Morada Lane, there is a shopping center with a full supermarket (Raleys) and other shops including a gas station. Suggested Restaurants for pick up, delivery or outside dining: 1) Pietro's in Lodi (Italian) 2) Wine & Roses (great Burger, good brunch, lovely setting) LODI 3) Papapavalos (Greek) in Lincoln Center on Lower Sacramento (about 12 minutes, 4) Market Tavern (Americana) in Lincoln Center too 5) Prime Table (Steak House) in Lincoln Center 6) La Palma (Mexican) on Pacific Avenue past U.O.P. Wineries: There are over 80 wineries in the area... Three I highly recommend 1) Viaggio - A taste of Tuscany 2) Michael & David: Pioneer of the LODI wineries. noted for "7 Deadly Zins" and lovely grounds. 3) Oak Farm: very elegant Try other wineries to your hearts content. You'll have to drive to get here since it's the beginning of the semi rural area between Stockton and Lodi; close to the Interstates (99 and 5) and easy to quickly get out to your wine country or Northern California destination. Approx. 83 miles east from downtown San Francisco - quick drive from Oakland/ SF East Bay or south of Sacramento. We are in and out of the SF Bay Area and Sacramento all the time. If you are driving, load up your road bike(s) for some backcountry cycling. Ground is flat. We have a couple cruisers to use which are cool too, yet for low key riding. This is growing and serious cycling region. For water sports, bring your kayak, canoes, and jet skis for San Joaquin Delta and other waterways excursions. Or go to Groupon and get one of the many white water rafting specials only an hour away off of the American River or in Yolo County at Cache Creek. Or bring your fishing poles or go rent a boat for deep port fishing. Lodi Lake is super fun for low key people with no equipment of any kind - you just show up and rent what you need at the Lake House and go out kayaking, etc. Gun ranges are within 2-3 miles featuring local competitions and one of the major soccer complexes for youth on traveling teams is less than a mile. A major ski diving school for novices and experienced divers is approx. three exits up from Bella Donna. It's a huge draw for the adventure seekers. There are major (big box) stores for all your needs, cleaners, major grocer, drug store, etc. within 2 miles if you need that kind of thing. Trader Joe's is within 4 miles; Raley's less than a mile; Delta College and the University of the Pacific are within 5-6 miles each. This is a country property in an agriculturally zoned area not within city limits; so make sure you are seeking a rustic environment with some animals, maybe a pile of leaves, free range chickens pecking around the property, some equipment out or a worker on grounds for property maintenance/ planting, etc. during your stay.
