Riversedge Cottage enjoys a most enviable position on the banks of the River Brathay at Skelwith Bridge, just strides away from the famous Chesters by The River and the ever-popular Talbot Bar at the Skelwith Bridge Hotel. Gateway to the majestic Langdale Valley, wonderful scenery, low and high level walking and cycle routes can be enjoyed right from the door and there’s always a great watering hole to be found to quench your thirst along the way. The space Pretty as a picture, this mid terraced, stone built cottage provides a quality and comfortable re-treat for a smaller family or two couples. From the rear, step into the traditional, farmhouse kitchen complete with Belfast sink and good range of units and appliances wrapped in cool granite making self catering a joy and not a chore. Through to the very comfortable lounge dining room where you can curl up on deep cushioned sofas in front of the woodburning stove while taking in a movie or your favourite TV programme. The lounge provides a superb view of the enclosed garden and river beyond. On the first floor are two good bedrooms, one double to the front with en-suite shower, hand-basin and WC, the other an excellent kingsize to the rear of the cottage with garden and river views. A modern, house bathroom has a shower over a corner bath, perfect for relaxing soak after a full day on the fells, handbasin, WC and heated towel rail. The enclosed, manicured gardens are perfect for taking in the sights and sounds of the river and spotting the local heron and kingfishers that often visit. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the patio, partake in a pre-dinner G&T or drink of choice before heading into nearby Ambleside for the evening and sample one of the fine dining restaurants the town has to offer – do call us for recommendations.
