Our updated 1880's Victorian has all the amenities of modern living. Period lighting fixtures and furnishings evoke the bygone era of the silver kings and mining boom. Located in a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance of main street. Attention to detail and cozy comfort make our home an enjoyable retreat for family, friends and guests. The wood burning stove in the kitchen provides a cheery setting for reading a book or preparing a meal with friends. Two queen beds, two twin beds and 2 full baths accommodate six comfortably. 3 spaces in front, as well as 2 large spaces in back provide plenty of parking. Patio, table and seating for 10, as well as a gas barbecue, make outdoor meals convenient. Guests will have access to all areas of the house as well as parking, front porch and back yard. Owners will be available by phone during your stay and your privacy will be respected. We expect your respectful consideration of our home while you are our guests. We love Leadville and the unique historical character it provides. Nearby museums, hiking and biking trails and the historic mining district offer many activities to enjoy. In addition to the hiking, biking and skiing that Leadville offers, it is centrally located to the major resort areas near by. While leadville offers it's own quaint charm, it is near the action of the resort towns for a change of pace... 25 minutes to Copper, 40 to Vail, 55 to Breckenridge and 1hr 15 to Aspen. Ski Cooper, a relaxing, retro ski area, a great place for the kids to learn or to perfect their skills, is 10 minutes away. The nordic center offers cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails. Torquoise lake and "the highest golf course in the nation' at 10,152 feet are less than10 minutes away. Mainstreet Leadville (Harrison Avenue) is a casual 10 minute walk from our home. The bike park, pump trail and ice skating rink are 2 blocks away. The nearby National Fish Hatchery, surrounding hiking trails and the National Mining Museum in Leadville offer unique opportunities to visit. For those looking for more challenging athletic events, the iconic trail and bike races as well as the nearby fourteeners offer offer other options.
