Located centrally in the picturesque town of Forrest, our two bedroom cottage offers a perfect getaway for couples, families or small groups of friends. Spend your days enjoying mountain bike riding, bush-walking, waterfall gazing, fabulous food, wine and locally crafted beers and your evenings relaxing on the back deck watching the sunset, enjoying a massaging spa bath or lazing by the fire in a recliner. The kitchen dining area opens onto a spacious outdoor deck with a BBQ and outdoor lounge where you can enjoy the outlook over the garden and into the hills behind. From here you can view the neighbouring horses as well as the visiting kookaburras, ducks, cockatoos and kangaroos and watch the sunset through the gum trees. The house has a separate lounge with 2 leather recliner chairs and a 3 seater couch that surround the cosy fireplace. A large Smart TV and some beautiful books to peruse will enhance your relaxation. The master bedroom has an extremely comfortable king size bed with quality linen, bedside tables and reading lamps. The second bedroom has a king single bed as well as a single bunk bed and sleeps up to 3 people. The bathroom features a large spa bath fabulous for relaxing in after a day of bush-walking or bike-riding and a newly renovated shower with a rain shower head. There is a separate toilet as well as a laundry with a washing machine and clothes rack for your use. The kitchen is fabulous to cook in and the cupboards are filled with everything you need to prepare some delicious home cooked meals during your stay. The kitchen has a large stove and oven, a dishwasher and a range of appliances - toaster, kettle, sandwich press and a microwave. A large dining table allows plenty of room for eating, newspaper reading, jigsaw puzzles and games. Off-road car-parking is provided. There are split systems for heating and cooling as well as ceiling fans in the main living areas and a fireplace in the lounge. All linen and towels are included. Please make sure you enter the correct number of guests during the booking process so that the right amount of beds are made up and towels are supplied. Free wifi is provided. We are family friendly! Forrest is a great place to bring kids with fabulous bush-walking, rock scrambling, waterfalls and bike riding options and just generally spending time in nature and away from screens! We have kids of our own and have stayed in many Airbnbs with them so we know what families are looking for. We offer a portocot (please bring your own sheets), ikea high chair, a cupboard full of toys and books and child friendly plates, cups and bowls in the kitchen. There is even a swing on the gum tree out the back to enjoy! Note: be aware for crawlers and toddlers that there are 3 internal stairs in the cottage to get from the bedroom / lounge area down to the kitchen / dining area. There is a door at the top of the stair area that can be closed to keep little ones in one area as needed. There are also external steps from the verandah to the garden and the balcony has wire railing which may be unsuitable for some small children. We care about the environment. We are working hard to make The Wren's Nest as environmentally-friendly as possible. All cleaning products used at the house are eco-friendly and we consider the environmental impacts of the products and appliances we purchase as we upgrade the house. We will continue to work on ways to reduce the environmental impact of hosting guests in our home. Pets Please contact us regarding pets - the cottage is not suitable for most pets. While the garden is fenced it is not pet-proof and there are neighbouring horses and ducks which may attract some dogs. Pets are strictly not allowed in the house or on the outdoor furniture. Guest access You will have full access to the cottage and the garden. Other things to note The base price shown is for 2 people. Additional guests are $20 per person per night. Long weekend bookings where the public holiday is the Monday require the booking to be over Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
