Whether you're here for powder days on the slopes or climbing one of 6 nearby 14ers or fly fishing the gold medal waters of the South Platte River……or….. to unplug entirely, this is your refuge. Step onto your private deck and sink into the hot tub under a canopy of Colorado stars. Come spring and summer, the meadows burst with wildflowers that blanket the property in color. In every season, the landscape rewards you for simply being still. When you're ready to come indoors, the steam room melts away every mile of hiking or skiing. Two generous bedrooms and two full bathrooms mean groups of four can spread out in total comfort. This is not a cookie-cutter vacation rental. The Snow Shack has been thoughtfully furnished to feel like a genuine mountain home(rustic, warm, personal, and deeply relaxing). Five acres means true seclusion: no shared walls, no noisy neighbors, just nature on all sides. The Snow Shack sits on five fully private acres bordered by towering pines, open wildflower meadows, and a year-round stream that runs through the property(except years with no snowmelt). The main living area is warm and open, centered around an indoor fireplace ideal for cozy mountain evenings. The fully equipped kitchen and comfortable dining space make it easy to stay in and cook or prep lunches before a day on the mountain. Two bedrooms provide peaceful, well-appointed sleeping quarters for up to four guests. Both bathrooms are full and well-stocked. The steam room is a standout feature which is rare in a private rental and transforms recovery after active days climbing 14ers, fishing, rafting or hitting the ski slopes. Guest access 2 bedroom and 2 full baths Outdoor private hot tub and access to 5 acres including tire swing and hammock and games No outdoor open or ember burning fires or grills allowed! Please respect risk to wildlife, neighbors and forest fires! All trash goes into bear proof trash bin please! Other things to note • The Snow Shack is located at over 10,000 feet elevation. Guests coming from lower elevations are encouraged to drink plenty of water, take it easy on arrival day, and enjoy the slower pace of mountain life. • Wildlife is part of the experience. Moose, foxes, hummingbirds, deer, and the occasional bear may wander through the area. Please enjoy them from a distance and do not leave food outdoors. • The property is intentionally unplugged. There is no TV, but there is WiFi, a hot tub beneath dark skies, a steam shower, a fireplace, and Columbine Creek flowing through the property. • Summer guests can enjoy hiking, fly fishing, rafting, mountain biking, wildflowers, and easy access to Alma, Fairplay, and Breckenridge….all while returning to the privacy of 5 secluded acres. • Winters are magical here. From November through April, guests should be prepared for snow-packed roads, changing mountain weather, and true Colorado winter conditions. Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with good tires is strongly recommended. Many guests first discover The Snow Shack in summer and return the next winter to experience the transformation into snow-covered aspens, cozy fires, the steam shower after skiing, and soaking in the hot tub while snowflakes fall around them.
