MaeBunny's Shack

The MaeBunny Shack is a perfect base camp for couples and solo travelers adventuring in SouthWest Colorado. You are minutes from The Colorado Trail and 2.5 miles to downtown Durango. The property backs up to a large trail network that is home to exceptional hiking, biking, bouldering and more. The MaeBunny offers rustic charm in a natural setting. Accommodations are simple and comfortable. Located just outside city limits, it’s the perfect place to tune out and relax. Dogs welcome. The space The MaeBunny Shack is located on private residential property. It is located behind the main residence (where host resides) and is roughly 190 square feet. It was one of the first buildings in this valley and still has many original features including the wood flooring and siding. It is simple but well-appointed. Full kitchen and bath, queen size bed, extra pillows, blankets and towels. Amenities including coffee and tea to get you going and out the door, and then spacious nature filled setting to relax at the end of your day with a private patio. The property is natural and wild. It is shared and used by a variety of animals. It is very likely that you will see deer passing through. Additionally, you may hear or spot a bear, fox, or mountain lion. Please respect their wildness and allow them plenty of space. The driveway is slightly inclined, and plowing in the winter is as needed, generally at 4-5”. In winter, when snowy or ivy conditions exist, you need all wheel drive to make it out of the driveway. Please consider that when you book during winter months. Guest access The MaeBunny Shack is a 190 sq ft tiny home/guesthouse located behind the main residence on the property. You will have private access to the shack as well as private parking and patio space. Additional storage/space behind cabin. Open space behind cabin for recreation. Private trail to neighboring trail system across the street. Host lives in main house. Other things to note The space is SMALL. 190 square feet. There is not a ton of storage space. The bed also serves as the couch. The bed is a queen size bed. Dogs are allowed. Not cats or any other type of animal. Please see specific pet rules in house rules section. TV=Netflix. Not cable. Use your own accounts to access these apps No smoking on property No outdoor fires This is bear country. (Not grizzlies) Do not leave any food items or trash outside or in your car. Mainly applies spring and fall We provide lots of extra amenities to make your stay comfortable, easy, and relaxing. Please, freely use what you need, but do not take anything with you upon departure. This includes toiletries, tea and coffee, pet waste bags, etc. thank you.
