It offers everything for the perfect holiday. The ideal blend of a warm atmosphere created by a family home but with all the creature comforts of a hotel. It’s all in the details, fresh flowers in every room, fragrant herbs on your pillow, quirky antiques with a story to tell. Everything has been carefully chosen to enhance this enchanting setting in the heart of the Lot. The manoir is open from the spring through to the autumn. We look forward to welcoming you… Anna & Abel The Manoir & Loft It was love at first sight when we discovered Malagorse in 1999… We bought the manoir, and with blind faith and optimism have slowly restored the buildings to their former glory using local materials and furnishings. In the 19th century, the north of the Lot was renowned for it’s famous ‘black truffles’ and many buildings were built from the profits. The manoir is filled with furniture and objects collected over the years; our rooms are light and spacious with exposed stone, original features rub shoulders with luxury up-to-date bathrooms and comfortable beds. The main house contains four large bedrooms, and the renovated stable block houses two spectacular suites. The living room is situated in the old bakery and is a great place to unwind, curl up with a book in a leather armchair or browse through an interesting selection of books. The Loft is our latest renovation projet & offers an amazing light filled space for either two couples or a family. Malagorse is set in ten acres of peaceful parkland with wonderful views of the rolling countryside, the swimming pool is located in a large meadow with comfortable teak sun beds. An elevated terrace affords views of the landscape, an idyllic spot for afternoon tea or an early apertif. Plenty of quiet, shady spots for a siesta or reading. For the children masses of space to let off steam, a wooden play area, trampoline and authentic tepee for any keen indians.. Other things to note Food is one of our great passions… The Loft has a fully equipped modern kitchen but if you fancy taking it easy during your stay we would de delighted to welcome you for diner. At Malagorse, great care goes into sourcing fresh seasonal produce, the kitchen with it’s impressive handmade cooking range is at the heart of our house. Breakfast is a relaxed affair, a buffet with plenty of delicious treats, homemade jams, cakes and granola. Fresh fruit juices, compotes, pastries, and a great selection of breads to tempt you. Dinner, a gastronomic four course set menu which changes daily depending on the fresh produce available. Tables are laid individually for guests with beautiful antique linens, fresh flowers and lots of candles. Interesting vegetarian options are possible and children can have an early tea if preferred. Abel is passionate about wine and spends each winter sniffing out new discoveries and meeting wine producers. He would be delighted to help you choose your wine to complement the menu. Evening meal- aperitif, starter, main course, cheese & dessert – 48 euros per person.
