Enjoy rural Lancaster County at Wimer's Mill
Be our guest at historic Wimer's Mill, in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Amish are our neighbors, and buggies are a common sight on Stony Hill Road. Sit on the terrace on summer nights, and listen to bullfrogs call to each other, and watch fireflies twinkle from the grass to the treetops. A fire pit is available upon request, and if weather conditions permit. Wimer's Mill is an historic 18th century woolen mill, lovingly renovated into a home. It sits on over 8 acres along a stream, with a natural waterfall. Lancaster city is within easy driving distance, as are the attractions in Kennett Square and Chadds Ford. Guest rooms are on the third floor, with a bathroom opening from the hall between rooms. The two bedrooms are on the third floor, with a bathroom between them, a small sitting area with chairs, a microwave and a small fridge. The second floor is private. You may sit in the lower entry hall/library, and may be invited to join Julie in the family room, if you wish. Use of the kitchen is private. You are welcome to roam the outdoor lawn and garden, and use the outdoor tables and chairs. Your host lives at Wimer's Mill, and is available for advice on places to visit in the area. She also loves to meet her guests, and often spends time visiting with them. Wimer's Mill is in the Lancaster County countryside, surrounded by Amish farms. There is a rails-to-trails access point nearby, and other hiking opportunities. There are almost 8 wooded acres, a pond, and a stream. There is no public transportation nearby. There is plenty of space to park your car. There are two friendly cats that are restricted to private areas on the first floor during guest stays. If you are allergic to cats, this might not be the best lodging for you. The owner will be here during your visit. There is a microwave and small fridge on the third floor for guest use. Wednesday nights there is a regular meditation group that meets at Wimer's Mill, and you are welcome to join us.
