SHANTI Mandala house with sauna

Mandala house is an 8-person stylish guest house in the picturesque village of Hegymagas, in the Balaton Uplands, also known as the Hungarian Tuscany. The 1800 m² gate has two guest houses: the Mandala house presented here and the 2-person Tiny house, which is available in a separate advertisement. In front of the house, hiking trails lead to Szent György Hill and the famous wineries of the mountain. Lake Balaton is only 6 km away. The SAUNA can be used by paying a separate fee, at an agreed time (15,000 HUF/heating). The space This house, built of local basalt stone, is about a hundred years old and has a floor area of 68 m². The gallery, where the 2nd bedroom is located, is 18 m². From the cozy 10 m² patio, we enter the house, where the living room with the dining room and the kitchen is in an open space. In the living room, there is an openable double (140x200 cm) sofa, a reading corner with bookshelves, board games, a rocking chair, and an old piano instead of a TV. The kitchen can be the place for smaller cooking. It also has a kettle, toaster, bialetti coffee maker. We prepare coffee, tea and basic spices. A combined fridge-freezer, a four-burner gas hob (no oven and microwave!) and a dishwasher contribute to your relaxation. A short corridor opens to the spacious bathroom, which accommodates a hand washbasin, a shower and a toilet. Also from the corridor is the bedroom, which has a 160x200 cm double bed with a quality 25 cm thick mattress. You can also exit the bedroom to the porch. The other bedroom is in the gallery. Here we can accommodate our guests on four single mattresses. Important information is that the gallery is in an airspace with the living room, dining room and kitchen! Guest access The house and the huge garden are at the guests' disposal. If you'd like to use the washer and/or dryer in the laundry room, please let us know in advance! The BARREL SAUNA in the garden can only be used at an agreed time, for an EXTRA FEE! If the other guest house at the gate, the Tiny house, is rented by other guests, you can still share the beautiful large garden with the guests of the other house without any problems. These are two completely separate houses, the distance between their entrances is 17 m. Our story: The world of the witness mountains, which once functioned as volcanoes, has always attracted us. Returning home from a long trip, we found a gate in the charming village of Hegymagas, on which stood two old houses. And we love old houses. We renovated them in an exciting 6 months, keeping as much as possible of the original materials: basalt stone, broken brick, pine, walnut and acacia wood... A place with wonderful energy was born... It contains our heart and soul. It includes all the experience we have gained during our years in India and Nepal. And it has the helping energy of our friends, who came to us from many countries of the world, from four continents, so that by the summer of 2016, Shanti house could be born as a truly multicultural place. True to the name of the house, we want to support silence and tranquility. That's why we don't have a TV, but we have fresh air, a view of St. George's Hill, peace and a wonderful garden with fruit trees, chirping birds, and hiding places for meditation. A 6-person BARREL SAUNA, which we built ourselves, exclusively from clean alder wood, also contributes to the perfect relaxation. The heat is provided by a wood-burning Harvia stove. In our view, the primary purpose of sauna is to bring us closer to our inner balance. It turns off the outside world, encourages us to look inward, while organizing and cleansing our thoughts.
