Description

No park reservation required! Stay in Yosemite National Park at Clouds Rest Retreat. This luxury, 3400-square-foot up-scale chalet in the quiet neighborhood of Yosemite West is the closest private home to YNP's wonders and comfortably sleeps 10. It provides great access to Glacier Point, Half Dome, and Bridal Veil. Enjoy Yosemite, make lifelong memories, view wildlife visitors from the wrap-around deck, or unwind inside by the expansive fireplace while planning your next day's adventure. The space Clouds Rest Retreat is the perfect balance of high-end luxury living and comfort found in an upscale mountain chalet. Our 3400-square-foot chalet comes equipped with everything you need to enjoy your time in Yosemite and ample space for families and friends to relax after a busy day. It provides extra privacy as it is located between two undeveloped lots owned by our quiet and long-time neighbors. As you enter the open-concept main floor, you walk into the living room centered around the floor-to-ceiling gas-assisted fireplace. There is plenty of comfortable seating to gather around the fireplace and take in the vistas available from the expansive windows. The living room adjoins the spacious dining room. Use this for your morning cup of coffee while taking in the spectacular views. Enjoy it also with your family and friends for lunch and dinner around the large, inviting solid oak table with bench seating for 10 guests. The living room opens into our fully equipped, spacious, high-end kitchen. There you will find everything a chef could want. This includes a double oven, six-burner range, warming drawer, large refrigerator/freezer, two sinks, pot filler faucet, built-in microwave, kitchen island, and plenty of kitchenware. Should you want to prepare a Swiss-themed dinner, we also have a raclette and a fondue set at your disposal. Tucked in the back for maximal privacy along the main floor is one of the three relaxing en-suite bedrooms. Like all of our bedrooms, it has a queen bed with a combination tub/shower bathroom. All bathrooms also come with body soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers and complimentary toiletries in individual packets. The laundry room is located in the remaining area of the main floor. It is equipped with two dual washer/dryer units, a laundry sink, and an enclosed half bath. The back door of the laundry room leads you to the spacious wrap-around deck. There you will find a gas-plumbed BBQ perfect for your grilling needs. Enjoy your meals outside with our spacious outdoor table and bench seating for six or have a seat in one of the four comfortable Adirondack chairs and take in the mountain air. Going up the staircase from the entrance will lead you to two more en suite bedrooms. Each of these has a very comfortable queen bed, plenty of closet space, and a dresser drawer for your use. Like the bedrooms, each bathroom is tastefully furnished. The bathrooms are equipped with a tub/shower combination for your use. Also upstairs, there is a loft with a 60-inch, flat-screen TV with Roku. You can log in and stream any of your personal accounts or enjoy our collection of classic and newer DVDs (mostly geared to the adult audience). Or, if you prefer, you can do some stargazing. This loft has a sleeper sofa with a nice gel foam memory mattress that comfortably sleeps two adults. This loft is listed as an "Office" as Airbnb does not have "loft" as a category. The ground-level entry floor has the second 60-inch flat-screen TV and a collection of classic and newer DVDs (mostly geared to the younger audience). There are two comfortable double and two single futons for relaxing during the day and sleeping at night. Between the 3 bedrooms, sleeper sofa, and downstairs futons, our cabin very comfortably accommodates 10 guests with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. Starlink is our ISP. Its measured download and upload speeds are about 100 and 25 Mb/sec respectively. Starlink also allows for Wi-Fi calling provided your cell phone supports it and your cellular service allows it (which most do). We have central air conditioning for those increasingly warm July and August days. We have an EV charger for your convenience. To minimize interruptions in your vacation, our chalet has a standby generator for those occasional and annoying power outages. The driveway and paved area can easily accommodate up to 3 vehicles (the maximum allowed by Mariposa County) so no one has to move their car to let someone else out. It is steep so going slowly at an angle will make it easier to drive up. Like any part of Yosemite National Park, it is subject to winter driving conditions. There is a contracted plowing service, but chains or cables are required by park services to be carried during the winter months. Guest access You will have access to the entire cabin except for several locked closets (for the owners' personal items). While it is not handicapped accessible, it is manageable for guests able to navigate one flight of stairs at a time while being at a 6300-foot altitude. Other things to note Staying here means you do not need a reservation to visit Yosemite and guarantees you park access. There are no cancellations unless the park is closed. Because of this, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance. Squaremouth, Generali, and Insuremytrip are examples of firms providing this type of insurance. Rain, snow, or shine, Yosemite is open all year long and you should be prepared for all weather conditions (which makes the park even more beautiful). Being in the middle of a national park, our neighborhood and property get our share of furry visitors like deer, bears, squirrels, the occasional nighttime coyote, and other animals native to the area. Despite our best efforts at prevention, occasionally, a field mouse makes it inside. Bears can do considerable damage to anything or anyone if they sense food. Do not leave food in your vehicles or outside (unless it is in the bear garbage cans we have bolted to the cement floor outside). Both early check-ins and late check-outs are occasionally available as long as we have sufficient time for cleaning. Your health and safety are our priorities. For guests who are pressed for time before departing, we can (for a convenience fee) arrange for our cleaners to perform tasks we typically have our guests perform before checking out. We provide an ample supply of non-perishable pantry items and snacks for you to enjoy. There is a Nespresso coffee maker with a generous supply of pods. There also is a drip coffee maker and a starter bag of fresh quality ground coffee for you to enjoy. Our chalet is in compliance with COVID-19 precautions as per the California Department of Public Health. For the most up-to-date information on the park, please visit www . yosemite . com (just remove the spaces as Airbnb does not permit the posting of websites). Lastly, we are unable to host guests who do not have positive ratings posted by prior hosts.
