Comfy Private Room near Detroit!

Welcome weary travelers! Need a place to stay for a short while? Share my cozy, quaint (small) home while you are here. The space I have a room in my two bedroom, one bath house. You have the entire upstairs - which has a sitting area, a bedroom, a microwave, coffee maker, and a cold water sink. You are welcome to use the one in the kitchen. For your comfort, there is a heater and portable air conditioning unit so that you may control the temperature. My home is about 13 miles outside the city of Detroit. It is advisable that you have transportation, although the bus stop is only six blocks away. I have an old bicycle that you are welcome to take out if you want. ** There are times where I may be out of town and willing to rent the entire house - prices may differ but - please inquire! And I am working to get a Small Grosse Pointe apartment airbnb ready.... Please ASK** Guest access Full house privileges which include a great back yard, kitchen and washer and dryer, shared bathroom. Wifi is throughout the house. There is a flat screen in the common (fireplace) room - which has Roku/Netflix/Amazon Prime. The photograph showing the box tube television is several years old. *** I have recently cut ties with the cable company so there may be limited television reception please take this into consideration and if television is necessary this may not be the place for you. Your room has a 19" flatscreen and an antennae that usually gets 6-10 local channels. The strong wifi should allow you to connect to your Netflix, Amazon Prime or other movies if you bring your laptop :) **** During your stay Most of the time - this is a shared property - but your room is quite private. However I have a cat - named Jake so if you have allergies or cat phobia this may not be the place for you! I want to make my guests comfortable and allow them as much privacy as they desire. If, however, I am available and it is your cup of tea - I LOVE to act as tour guide (urban or suburban) I have been a tour guide for many of the local Detroit organizations and for most of my friends and family all my life. However, if you prefer to simply explore on your own and have a place to come home too... this is THE place ! Other things to note Once confirmed, I am happy to email you a .pdf of a Welcome Packet I have put together as long as you provide a valid email to airbnb.com. The photos were taken by an airbnb approved photographer with a wide angle lens. The house is smaller than it might appear, the furniture may have been rearranged and I have probably changed the bedspread - sometimes it's green, other times it may be brown, once in a while blue. The pictures are accurate - if you take all this into consideration. **** FULL DISCLOSURE **** You are sharing my home. A well loved, lived in and broken in home. I will ensure that your room is deep cleaned before your arrival. Depending on my work schedule and/or how much notice I have before your reservation - the common areas including the kitchen may not be deep cleaned. There may be dust, I may have forgotten or not had time to vacuum and odds are good it will be cluttered in certain corners. I mention that you are welcome to use my kitchen - as I rarely use it myself - you may need to wash the pots, pans and utensils as they suffer from lack of use. You are not getting the Hilton white glove treatment, nor are you paying for it. My house is your house, it may be "messy" but it is not un-clean. If this is a deal breaker for you - please find other accommodations that better suit us both. Peace.
