Holy Wood - Wooden cathedral house in the forest

In the heart of the Gâtinais, in the fresh and colorful sweetness of the countryside, and a green environment, a source of rest, this pleasant and bright timber-framed house, as if perched on its small hill, nestled in a green and private wooded setting of more than 5500 m2, composed in particular of oaks, hornbeams and acacias... Sheltered from the fury and noise, a few dozen kilometers from the French capital, a haven of peace that beats to the rhythm of nature and the elements. The space Almost invisible from the street, in a residential and largely wooded area with a few houses, without any real opposite, at the end of a small cul-de-sac, here is an atypical and charming place that offers many attractions and which, by its design, could recall the mountains, such as the Vosges or the Jura, Savoy or the Massif Central. Or, perhaps also, Switzerland, or Quebec, like the Morin-Heights region, in the heart of the Laurentians... While, we are here, just on the borders of Ile de France and Yonne, in Burgundy... Built in an L-shape, and open in a cathedral, the property offers a high and spacious living room of nearly 30 m2 (with 3-seat leather sofa convertible into a double bed) and armchair - equipped with a large wood-burning fireplace insert (functional) - around which the American kitchen, a bathroom (with bathtub/shower, sink and toilet) and two bedrooms on the ground floor are articulated, the first oriented with its window to the south (overlooking the open terrace and the garden), and the second to the north, on the wooded garden. Upstairs, the large and high living room opens onto a spacious double mezzanine - watch your head, for the tallest! - accessible by a central staircase, on which are, on each side, the third and fourth sleeping spaces, overlooking the living room. As a bonus at your disposal if needed, a complete folding baby bed (with mattress, pillow, sheets etc.), as well as a small specific bathtub and a support/reducer). Outside, the house also offers a beautiful terrace facing south/southwest of 18 m2 (with, in the summer, garden furniture for eight people, brick barbecue and all the necessary equipment for your grilling), terrace through which you can access the inside of the house. The dominance of wood offers a real feeling of warmth and serenity that I hope will give you the greatest comfort. In the wooded garden that surrounds the house, or even the terrace, it is not uncommon to come across many birds with multiple colors (Magpie, blackbird, Robin, jay, gray cuckoo, the friend of the loggers...) squirrels and/or rabbits... all absolutely harmless. From time to time, a weasel or a little fox timidly points the tip of their nose at the end of the park... Let's not forget that we are in the countryside, and surrounded by trees, with what this kind of landscape can have inherent... and charming. The brand new American kitchen has a large refrigerator (with freezer space on two levels), a four-burner induction hob (and the appropriate pots and pans), a very easy-to-use microwave oven, a classic multi-function pyrolysis oven, a dishwasher for 11 place settings, a traditional espresso coffee machine (barista type percolator - without "pods" or capsules), a kettle, a toaster, a blender, an electric cooker (rice/bulgur, Quinoa etc.), various raclette-type appliances, Savoyard and Burgundian fondues, braserade, giant wok, Soda Stream, thermos and coolers for your possible picnic, water glasses, beer, wines, champagne, digestif, flat plates, hollow and dessert plates, complete cutlery for at least eight people, as well as all the necessary utensils for cooking (recipe books etc.). In the living room, a giant 4K HD screen, a subscription of more than 100 channels and a Blu-ray/CD DVD player will bring you complete satisfaction. Scattered throughout the house according to their theme, many books are available to you and your thirst for culture and knowledge. As well as musical CD boxes of Jazz, French song and/or Pop, which you can listen to at leisure via the Blu-ray player, in the strict family and private circle. For the most music lovers among you, an upright piano, with a brilliant sound, will be able to stretch your phalanges. Outside, upon prior request, a ping pong table is available for the most athletic and game lovers (with a set of balls and rackets, of course). In the basement, some games await you (adult and children's petanque, tennis balls and rackets, Finnish bowling, hammock (on request)), and this is also where you will find a washing machine, dryer, drying rack, steam iron and ironing board. If you are thirsty for a little wild greenery and want to disconnect (in every sense of the word, because inherently in this type of wooded place, 4G and cell phones sometimes have a hard time*), then Holy Wood is for you! Stakhanovists of hyper-connectivity, addicts of asphalt and the city, you will risk, on the other hand, being left unsatisfied. *However, the house's Wi-Fi and an excellent ethernet connection at your disposal will save you from this hazard. During your stay, everything is designed to make this house your own, so that you feel as good as possible, alone or accompanied by your loved ones and/or friends. In fact, respect it as much as possible, and above all, don't hesitate to contact us at any time if you need anything, so that your stay goes smoothly. The vast wooded garden of 5500 m2 is also accessible during your stay. It is largely enclosed, with the exception of the eastern end (overlooking the field). Other things to note Several games, including Domino, card games, giant Mikado, Trivial Pursuit, La bonne paye, 1000 bornes, Scrabble, Chess and Monopoly are at your disposal if you have the desire and leisure. Our friends, dogs or cats, are very welcome, but it is advisable to let us know before your arrival, and it is your responsibility to have the leash, or at least sufficient control so that no inconvenience is caused, both outside and inside the house, in particular to the neighbors and their own pets. Therefore, for reasons of hygiene and respect, thank you in advance for not letting your pets climb on the armchairs, sofas, bed, or access the floor of the house, on the double mezzanine. If the weather is rainy or wet, take care to dry your pets' paws at least with a towel that you have taken care to bring.
