Explore downtown, Jet Express, marinas, East Harbor, local attractions, and the exhilarating Cedar Point amusement park - all within easy reach! The Bashful Mermaid was built sometime before 1900 is a 6000+ square foot house that sprawls across a half acre with large open spaces, gardens, various outdoor seating areas just across the street from Lake Erie, Waterworks Park, Lighthouse, Trails/Marsh & a new beach area. It was converted to four private condos forty years ago and then operated as a bed and breakfast until 2016. It was sold at that time and then I purchased her in 2018 running it primarily as a long term rentals while I worked on this specific unit. All condos in the house are private with no shared access other than a back porch for 3 units and a front porch that provides entrances to foyers that leads various spaces. This unit advertised on this platform is 2000 square feet and is comfortable for one to six guests. It consists of 3 bedrooms (bedroom #2 and #3 are adjoining), 1-1/2 baths, kitchen, living room, dining room, breakfast nook, and private deck with lake/lighthouse views. Open spaces include the front and back porches, large yards/open spaces and gazebo. The bedrooms consist of the following beds. There are no bunk beds or pull-out couches so all guests have their own bed. Bedroom #1 - 2 Queens , 1 Twin Bedroom #2 - 1 King Bedroom #3 - 2 Twins Dedicated High-Speed Internet, Wi-Fi and work space which makes for an ideal remote work location while enjoying Lake Erie at its finest. The Mermaid is locally owned and managed by a host born & raised in Port Clinton with deep family roots & ties to the area. Additional parking is available on the street right next to The Mermaid. If there are guests wanting to bring a boat/trailer, please reach out. I have offsite parking/hook-ups available. Getting around is either by walking or traveling by car. The Mermaid is a 4 block walk to the downtown area and a bit over that to the Jet Express. The beach, light house, & derby pond are right out your door and a few blocks east will be the City Park and the City Beach. If you are wanting to venture to other sights in the area - either travel by car or call the local cab company. I am always available when needed. I work local to the area as the City Tax Commissioner so am just a call or text away besides living across the street from The Mermaid. I truly love our entire area and am so fortunate to have the best of many worlds with The Mermaid. We have Lake Erie, the Port Clinton Light House and beach right outside the door & the house is a quick walk to restaurants, entertainment, the Jet Express, City Beach & Park, and other activities. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, neighbors are a blessing and you'll usually find a "hello" from those that pass the house on their daily walks. The Mermaid is special to the area as it is one of the grand ole houses in the city and everyone in town adores the Mermaid in the front yard. There is onsite parking for 2 vehicles. These spots are marked with the letter "A". Side street parking right off your deck is for any overflow. It's an extremely safe neighborhood so there should be no concern for your vehicles on the side street. The house is within walking distance to the downtown area, Jet Express for island hopping, restuarants and bars, city beach and city park. Right across the street is the Derby Pond, beach, park and the Port Clinton Light House. Pets - Due to various needs of my guests & others, pets/any type of animal are not allowed.
