Welcome to the Hippy Hut!! Where you should expect the unexpected! Your stay here will be unlike any other. With many games to play and activities to keep you busy, you surely won’t get bored here! Hang out in hammocks, heat up the sauna, sit around fires indoors or out, all year long. Located in central New Jersey, there are many local attractions, as well as great road trip opportunities less then an hours drive. Always happy to recommend some of my favorites! The hut will provide you with just about everything you need and plenty of things you never knew you needed! There is a surprise around every corner just waiting to be discovered! You’ll be sure to connect with your hippy self! 2 futons and sleeping pads/air mattress will provide you a good night sleep. 4 Pillows, 2 blankets, sheets, 4 bath towels, and 1 complete sauna towel set per guest, are all supplied for your convenience. Disinfectant wipes, spray, and hand sanitizer are always available in the hut. Electric and gas camping stove with 2 small pots and 2 small pans great for cooking small meals. Mini fridge to keep the important things cold and a coffee machine and electric kettle to heat things up a bit with coffee and tea provided. Small sink to wash hands and dishes, cold water only. An outhouse complete with toilet paper, tissues and hand sanitizer. Heated outdoor shower Hand built, wood burning cedar barrel sauna. Reaching temps into the 200s make sure you drink plenty of water and prepare yourself for a cold plunge/shower Flowers throughout the spring and summer surround the area and bring in some amazing colors! Begins in April! Expect to encounter dogs, chickens, birds, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunk, deer, and bugs. Possibly fox, raccoons, opossums, skunk, and cat. The happy coup of free range chickens will provide you with fresh eggs and a friendly coo every morning. There are dried mealworms treats supplied for feeding by hand or tossed. Fresh drinking water is supplied but bringing your own is important. There is firewood available. I always suggest to my guest to bring an extra dry bundle of wood if your planning to have a fire. There are fire starter bricks supplied. The sauna has its own supply of specialty wood, it’ll will be set up for 1 burn when you arrive. Available all year long! The hippy hot tub is an exciting amenity! Heat up water in a cast iron tub like a pot of soup! Or indulge in a cold plunge after a sauna session! Definitely not for everyone but it is an interesting experience! Not operational when temperatures have been below freezing. I have the key and look forward to meeting you and your guests. The chicken coop is near the hut so you may encounter someone feeding or collecting eggs. Our friendly dogs Rudy, Karson, and Cooper love to meet new friends! This cozy hexagonal hut is sure to please. 20 minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure, 30 minutes to the beach, walking distance to a local winery and New Jersey’s Field of Terror. Also minutes from Assunpink Wildlife Management Area, it is a great location for anyone looking to explore central New Jersey. Surrounded by tall trees keeping it cool in the summer, the hut is tucked away in our backyard. Private, enjoy barbecue, hammocks, and fires all year long. All guests must be listed on the reservation prior to arrival. No water when temperatures are below freezing Expect to tend a fire during coldest nights Two car maximum All pets should be accompanied at all times. There are free range chickens so please be prepared with a leash.
