Description
Built in the early Showa era and long used as a tea ceremony classroom, the townhouse has been reborn as a private rental inn, "Kyomachiya Cottage karigane". It is a 1-minute walk to the hot springs and Daikokuji Temple, which has deep ties to tea. Shino, with its unique cafes, coffee roasters, delicious Japanese confectionery stores, bakeries, and soba shops. Please use the carefully restored Kyomachiya as your base for sightseeing in northern Kyoto, where time flows slowly, with a focus on natural materials and traditional craftsmanship by Miyadai Koge and Saigo craftsmen. Open the sliding door and go up the tatami mats, and the first floor opens up to a calm Japanese space. From the tatami mats where the fireplace was cut, you can see the remains of what was once a tea ceremony classroom. The 4.5 tatami dining area features a pure table made of Aomori cypress with five seats. In the back, there is a kitchen with cooking utensils, a sink with a toilet, and a round and cute tiled bath. The bath, which has a rising steam and a scent of cypress, is one of our prized features. On the second floor, there are 4.5 and 6 tatami Japanese-style rooms, and we have prepared down comforters for the season. Both rooms have air conditioning, so you can use them by dividing them into two rooms with sliding doors.
