Description

Our enchanting tree house offers the ultimate winter escape. Elevated in the canopy and wrapped in woodland, it provides total privacy with sweeping views across the Piddle Valley. With the Dorset countryside on your doorstep, it’s designed for restorative seclusion, inviting you to ground yourself in peaceful surroundings, from slow mornings to deep relaxation in your wood-fired hot tub and cosy evenings that soothe body and mind. The space Tree Tops is a beautifully crafted woodland retreat, designed with couples and small groups in mind who want to escape, reconnect, and indulge in the peace of nature. Set high in the treetops and embraced by woodland on all sides, it offers complete privacy and a magical sense of seclusion in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex, Dorset, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Inside, the space feels warm and inviting, with over 800 sq. ft. spread across a split-level design. Natural wood finishes wrap every corner, creating a soothing ambience that instantly cocoons you from the winter chill. A wood-burning stove feeds radiators in every room, ensuring a snug and comfortable atmosphere throughout your stay. The private Japanese-style wood-fired hot tub makes evenings unforgettable—slip into the steaming water under a canopy of stars as the crisp winter air swirls around you. By day, step onto the south-facing deck to take in sweeping views down the Upper Piddle Valley, or simply curl up indoors with a glass of wine as the light fades across the landscape. With self check-in, free parking, and the reassurance of Superhost status, Tree Tops makes unwinding effortless. Secluded, romantic, and surrounded by nature, it’s a sanctuary where winter is transformed into the most magical time of year to retreat, recharge, and savour the simple luxuries of life. The principal bedroom is dominated by a solid brass Super King Size bed which faces out to woodland with a star gazing skylight above the bed. Luxurious bedding is used throughout with goose down feather duvet and pillows, together with Egyptian cotton towels and natural sheepskin rugs. The additional second bedroom is a double with beautiful antique brass bedstead with luxurious cotton sheets and goose down bedding, Egyptian Cotton towels, and windows that open onto woodland overlooking the front decking area. Polished wood flooring and sheep skin rugs complete this stylish room. Our standard booking includes one main bedroom. If you would like access to the second bedroom, an additional charge of £49 per night applies. Please let us know via message after booking if you wish to include this room in your stay. A thoughtfully designed bathroom includes a walk-in shower, a large freestanding double-ended bath (two persons), heated towel rail, and piping hot water, which ensures that bathing is a comfortable and relaxing experience.. The WC is flushed using recycled rainwater, a ceramic wash basin. Our luxury bed linen is professionally laundered to the highest standards to provide the most restful sleeping experience. Tree Tops tree-house has a large kitchen in "elephant breath'" grey, with solid pine worktops and includes a fridge-freezer, a gas fan oven and hob, large double-bowl sink, dishwasher, coffee percolator, toaster, kettle, and utensils. We provide a selection of complimentary tea and coffee for your use. On arrival you will be greeted with a selection of locally supplied snacks. For inside-dining there is a hand-crafted oak table with four accompanying tree trunk stools, providing the perfect setting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And when the weather is fine, alfresco dining is beautifully accommodated on the outside decking with its circular wooden table and chairs, and barbecue. Dividing the lower level of Tree Tops tree-house with the upper living area is a magnificent display of living Air Plants providing a natural screen for added cosiness. The comfortable living room is equipped with a large Smart TV with an Amazon fire stick plus a sound bar for movie watching and catching up with sport, or just while away your time in front of the wood burning stove playing board games, reading books, or listening to your favourite music. Outside there is an abundance of nature to observe during the daytime from the decked area, including Buzzards and Goshawks, and at night stargaze to your heart’s content whilst relaxing in the log-fired hot tub and listening to the Barn Owls which inhabit the surrounding woodland areas. If you decide to venture away from your little piece of paradise, there’s plenty on offer including woodland walks, country lanes, an award-winning vineyard – Langhams - offering tours and its own restaurant which is a 20–30-minute walk away, as well as local pubs providing locally sourced produce. ‘Durdle Door ‘ with the enchanting Lulworth Cove is a short drive, the Jurassic coastline with dramatic coastal walks and crystal clear seas await you The nearby pub, The Oak, is a 7-minute stroll away where you can meet the locals and sample local ales and food and there are other fine traditional pubs a short drive away, notably the Thimble Inn, Piddlehinton, the Royal Oak Milborne St Andrew, the 16th century Brace of Pheasants at Plush, and the Blue Vinney at Puddletown. There's plenty to choose from all offering a wide selection of good food. With the unique charm of Tree Tops treehouse, the welcoming warmth of the local village, and the spectacular countryside that surrounds it, we invite you to unwind in total seclusion. Whether it’s sinking into the private wood-fired hot tub beneath a starlit sky, embracing the rare tranquillity of the woodland setting, or simply enjoying the distinctive character of this one-of-a-kind hideaway, we hope your stay is nothing short of magical—an amazing, relaxing escape far away from the madding crowd. Guest access The entire tree-house and surrounding garden and decking are for your use only. The entrance is private and only for your use, access to the tree-house requires an uphill path and steps, it's a little workout but it's worth it for the views! There is one parking space available in a private lay-by close to the tree-house. Tree Tops Eco Lodge is a uniquely designed property that features multiple small level changes and natural terrain. Due to these characteristics, the accommodation may present challenges for guests with reduced mobility. Additionally, the layout and emergency exits are not fully accessible for wheelchair users or those requiring step-free access. We want all guests to have a safe and enjoyable stay, so we recommend reaching out to us directly if you have any specific accessibility needs or questions before making a reservation. Other things to note For those interested in the Eco credentials of this unique tree-house, every part of this property has been constructed using reclaimed oak piles. All floors are reclaimed oak, elm, and pine, heating is from the wood burner via thermostatically controlled radiators and the entire property has been wrapped in an Eco aluminium foil which radiates back, into the room area, 95% of the heat – this matches Passiv Haus specifications. There are LV lighting circuits throughout, solar panels and solar powered outside lighting. The WC is flushed using recycled rainwater, and when guests depart the tree-house, when they remove the key fob from the monitor, any lights left on will automatically cut out. All in all, it is a shining example of sustainability combined with luxury and comfort. We take the cleanliness of our treehouse extremely seriously so that each guest is greeted with a safe and germ-free environment. Please remove your shoes as you enter to protect the hand-polished wooden floors—slip off your socks or shoes and feel the warmth of the wood beneath your bare feet, grounding you in nature and connecting you to the magic of the tree house.
