Description

Our caravan, disguised as a cosy cabin, nestles to the side of our garden and has been totally restyled. Self check-in and a private entrance makes it easy to social distance, with footpaths and woodland all around there is an abundance of open space. In addition to following the enhance cleaning and sanitisation protocol, we are also keeping a 1 day window before and after each booking. Secluded, dog friendly and situated in walking distance of Bucks Mills beach and the South West Coast Path. The space The name of our ‘cara-cabin’ will become obvious when you hear the light pitter-patter of feathery feet on the roof. ‘Pheasant’s Rest’ was our project when we moved to North Devon in April 2017. It is fully insulated to make all year round stays comfortable, and we have used eco-friendly technology to provide central heating throughout using FAR infrared heat panels. The kitchen is now open plan giving it a more spacious feel and is fitted with a fridge plus freezer compartment, kettle, cafetière, toaster, a 2 ring induction hob plus combination microwave/convection oven to prepare your meals. We also provide tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, washing up liquid, dish cloth and tea towel to reduce the amount of ‘extras’ needed when self-catering. There is a separate dining area next to the kitchen to enjoy your food. In the living area there is a 32” TV, digital radio, flame effect fire to make the room look as cosy as it feels, a 2 seater leather sofa and spacious 3 seater sofa to spread out. WiFi is available throughout the space, however can be slow and patchy at times due to rural nature of our setting. However, we do have excellent 4G coverage so if you rely on a good connection this is a great back up. We have converted the 2 tiny pre-existing bedrooms into 1 comfortably sized, heated, double bedroom (including linen etc) with shelves and hanging space. The bathroom sits just off the bedroom corridor comprises of a shower, WC and basin. We also provide hand soap, 2 loo rolls, a hand towel and 2 standard towels. You will need to bring your own shampoo and shower gel. Outside is a small, private gravelled garden with bistro table and chairs. We have also installed an outside tap and provided tubs to wash off muddy paws or rinse your wet suits. There is also a hanging rail outside to dry your wet suits ready for the next day ;-) You can follow us on social media. Feel free to tag us and share your visit #pheasantsrest @pheasantsrest Guest access On arrival there is a key safe and you have your own private gated entrance to the side of our property, and we have used trellis and climbing flowers to add as much privacy to your stay as possible. There is uncovered space to store your bikes/surf boards at the end of the caravan if needed, as well as an outside tap to rinse wet suits and wash muddy/sandy paws. We would ask that you don’t wash dogs in the shower. If you crave a fabulous local pub serving excellent food and drinks that is super dog friendly, you can put a tick in this box! This is a daytime walk of just over an hour in either direction and takes you along footpaths and country lanes (although it is only 5 minutes away in the car if your prefer). Walk down to Bucks Mill car park and pick up the footpath (we will leave full details in the caravan) will lead you to The Hoops Inn. Clovelly (one of the filming locations for The Guernsey Literacy and Potato Peel Pie Society) is a must see, iconic, beautiful and picturesque, just a 10 minute drive along the road. Other stunning places to visit are Instow, Appledore and Hartland, but to be honest, there are far too many to mention. Other things to note We accept up to 2 dogs with no extra charge. If you have more than 2 dogs, please contact us as we may be able to accommodate you all with a reasonable extra charge, depending on the size of your dogs.
