This is a great getaway, centrally located between 3 cities...Wichita, Hutchinson, and Newton. We are only 15 minutes from each! This is a better experience than a hotel. It is private and you can connect with nature. Those who stay are welcome to throw a fishing line into our sandpits! PLEASE NOTE- This is a remote & awesome fishing cabin. Guests must bring towels, toiletries, and bedding! This is the only home on the 35 acre property, but we have family and friends that fish it occasionally. The space The Scale House is a very rustic restoration that can sleep four people. It includes a kitchen, HVAC, an awesome sound system, and satellite TV. There is a sleeper sofa and a queen sized murphy bed. The Outhouse a full bathroom built from reclaimed materials with a 3'x6' custom tile shower. *(TeePee was damaged in a recent wind storm. We are working to get it repaired/replaced). The TeePee is a 16 foot diameter tee-pee. It is a great place to share a fire and peace pipe with friends. It is also a place for the more adventurous to sleep. Guests are also allowed to fish on our 30 acre lake. It has great Bass, Catfish, and Crappie! We also have Jon boats you can use. They have trolling motors. You can use them anytime, but need to bring your own battery, tackle, and life vest. There is also a nice fire pit right in front of the cabin. Firearms and ATVs are strictly prohibited. Guest access The property is gated and you can lock yourself in. There is a nice restaurant, liquor store, and gas station just 2 short miles away! Other things to note Hutchinson is great for Food, the State Fair, and the Cosmosphere. Burrton has a very nice restaurant, liquor store, gas station, and bar. You can also go East to hit Halstead, Newton, and other small towns. Newton has a station to catch a ride on the Amtrak train.
