The Lavender room is the elegant master bedroom of this historical house. Matching its unique decor is the uniquely planned Audrey Hepburn themed bathroom with a cast iron bathtub and modern shower as well. The lavender room features a northern and western view, along with access to the second floor balcony, providing a wonderful view for sunrise breakfasts and sunset dinners. This 1907 house is full of nostalgia, charm, and wonder from days gone by. Here, you will have the perfect mix of modern technology (wi-fi and modern kitchenry) with all of the charm of vintage life (old light switches, a parlor, library and hidden passages). The home is great for an immersive experience of old-town Redlands and life before the modern age. Guests have full access to the entire first floor (kitchen, parlor, dining room, library), the outside backyard, the porch, and the second floor balcony. Guests have full access to their private room and bathroom, with a key unique to the room ensuring security and safety. With planning, I can accommodate nearly any check-in/check-out meetings. Even on short notice, I can make arrangements for key drop off and pick up. If desired, a full tour of the house is available for the curious, and even city tours if schedule permits. As your host, I have constant access to my phone for text, e-mail and voicemail (which will be replied to within an hour or less). The neighborhood is very charming in itself. Throughout the area are dozens of Victorian style homes. Within a few city blocks, one can find the Redlands Bowl (where free live shows are seen throughout the summer every Tuesday and Friday night), the Olive Market (our favorite local coffee and sandwich shop), the Fox Theater Building, the Lincoln Memorial, Smiley Library, the old Train Station, and downtown Redlands (full of restaurants, bars, boutique clothing stores, and salon). A farmer’s market and street fair takes place every Thursday night on near by State St. Access to the 10 freeway is found within 1.5 miles of the house. Redlands is very walkable and bicycle friendly (we host the bicycle classic every year in April) with plentiful sidewalks and several streets having dedicated bicycle lanes. For those serving in healthcare we are in close vicinity to hospitals. Redlands Community is 1.8 mi away and Loma Linda Medical Center is 5.1 mi away. The bus station is found only 1/2 mile from the house which services the Inland Empire and surrounding cities. The Redlands House is a historical house from 1907. It is a vintage masterpiece with authentic antiques giving the house its period charm. The neighborhood is extremely safe (Redlands police station is less than 5 blocks away, with regular patrols on Olive street) and your host very familiar with all aspects of the home. These charming and beautiful houses are made of Redwood and Pine. As the day cools, they can creak a little and there can be noises of it settling down. As with any vacation, your beliefs and attitude will determine your stay. Take the time to appreciate the wonderful smell of redwood throughout, the sounds of pine adjusting to your weight as you walk on the wood floors, and the sight of original warbled glass as the light refracts through.
